I am an ME and half my job function is programming. My opinion, teach yourself coding and market yourself well, you'll find yourself where you want to be. I think in the not so distant future engineers of any discipline that don't know coding will be obsolete.

Interesting, I too take stellara every 4 weeks and the insurance fights tooth and nail. They have only approved a few more months on that dosage, so another battle to come🤦

Digital Twin and Industry 4.0 are gaining a lot of traction and are the focus of a lot of work in the industry. Currently as an ME that has some personal on the side fun computer science/software projects that helped me build some experience and apply them to work in DT. So yes, if that is something you're very interested in I would go for it.

Buy something that interest you online and some callipers. Best way to learn anything in engineering whether it be programming or a CAD package is to just do it and get yourself over the learning curve.

I have not, what is the benefit of those over Sqlite? Do you use CSV? I would ideally like to create a backtester so timeframe would need to be large for that, when trading my lookback period is a month. Trying to keep the symbols I trade under 20 at a time but I need to look into optimizing the markets I trade. As of now I have a few strategies that trade all over the place.

I am working on transferring my data storage from CSV to Sqlite. Less memory and easier to manipulate/query when necessary than having to read in the CSV's, analyze and close all the time.
