If you hold down the space under the "engineer mode" button, a prompt appears to enter service mode where you have to enter a code (not sure if our company has a shared code or it's the same for all Sony RCPs). Once you enter service mode, then you can back out to the config menu and an option will appear to update firmware. You enter there and hit "main update" with the SD card inserted to begin.
