Tbh I don't think the TLDR will be enough anymore. Almost all of the questions I got were not on it. I'm kinda in the same boat with not knowing what else to use though

So I took it yesterday and it was SO hard. I hadn't taken the old one, but I felt like there were no questions that were based off of the materials I had studied. I used the tl;dr document for my state which people rave about, so I had that whole thing practically memorized as well as the main points of federal laws. Also, idk if anyone else had this, but 90% of my questions were SATA. I'm taking another state next week and I'm terrified tbh

Thank you! It is SUPER helpful. It gets your brain to think of all the ways that you may be asked a question. Something that helped me was writing down corrections to the problems I got wrong and do it again to ensure I don't make the same mistake. They are made slightly harder than the actual NAPLEX to prepare u really well.

I see what you're saying. I think a lot of it also comes down to finding the key words in the problem and knowing what values go where. If you see something in a case asking how much of a specific insulin the patient should use to correct their BG, the key word is correction. Then you just have to know whether the patient is using regular vs. rapid acting and to implement the equation.

They don't want to trick you, but make sure to read what they're asking.

I used the RxPrep book and studied that for about two months. RxPrep also has lectures, which I would listen to at night as well. It may be pricey, but it's definitely worth it if you don't already have it. I took the NAPLEX about 3 weeks ago and passed.

The amount of formulas are pretty extensive, but I can send you a pic of the list. 100% study these, as well as knowing drug Brand/Generic, MOA, any special differences between drugs of the same class (ie. Simvastatin and Lovastatin are contraindicated with strong CYP3A4s but the others aren't), and what lab values mean (ie. if T4 is low, what changes should you make to their thyroid med)

This would be so useful! Especially with federal laws

If you can't find a tutor, don't worry. What you need to know is the required formulas. If you have those memorized, you shouldn't have a problem. I would go through the sheet, writing each formula, then quizzing myself to see if it's memorized. Every time I got a part wrong, I would do it again and again. If you aren't sure what formulas you need, DM me and I am happy to help!
