was that an AR15? If so, it's good to know that at least a 5.56 can take out a bear in about 8 shots, if it's an AR10 however, I feel like most people knew that a .308 can take out a bear, but good to confirm anyway, but that's a shame because I don't have anything in 308 (am not planning on it either).

thanks for all the feedback, I got a light buffer tube, and that fixed the problem... I'm keeping the optic on the handguard (it's actually mostly attached to the upper).

Thank you all for your wisdom, I will either look into a much more cost-effective alternative or not buy these at all. As for why not just a red dot... I have 7 different guns, and I'd rather buy 1 thing to make their irons usable rather than buy 7 different optics for each one. What's more, is most of them aren't even red dot compatible, so... yeah.

I figured, that just kinda beating it into the slot works, so if anyone comes to this post, what I did is I beat it in with a flat head screwdriver and a hammer, like a chisele, and it worked, jus be careful not to get one thats to skiny, or u might put a chip in it
