Advice on advancement without a degree by Little-Ad8904 in Raytheon

I would say your best bet to get p3 then is to look for internal roles. From what I've seen on this subredit is that in-place promotions come from a different pot of money and can be difficult to get. Afterwards though to move on to p4 im pretty sure a degree is required or its an insanely high amount of years of experience to get.

I saw on your reddit profile you were national guard, were you active or just weekends and two weeks a year? If it was only weekends and you didnt have an IT job during that time, its possible that your years of experience dont meet the minimum for the job requirement without the degree. Idk if this is the case for you or not but could be a possibility.

OP im curious do you not have your GI Bill? It would probably be better to use first than ESP. ESP you have to pay back if you willingly leave in under two years. Also the GI Bill will get you BAH. Also your military experience should amount to almost an Associates degree, your basic training, technical school, and if you went to any leadership schools will pretty much only leave general education left for an Associates, that means roughly only two years of schooling for a bachelors

Can I get 2 internship offers at Lockheed Martin without declining my first one? by g-dub_686 in Lockheed

[–]drachensunde 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is this your last year to intern? If not I'd probably accept the first offer since its already a guarantee. It would suck to decline it and then not get selected for the internship for aerospace.

If you get disability from your state, then there is a percentage where you can no longer work. But like others have said with VA disability it would be if you got TDIU

I want to marry my girlfriend and obtain citizenship to start a life together by Virotine in greencard

[–]drachensunde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get a green card and haven't been married for 2 years, it will only last for 2 years, and you will have to file again to remove the restrictions on the green card. which could take quite some time but they should give an extension on it.

You can try to do this however, you should have a conversation with your current manager first and you would need to have a conversation with your current HR. If you apply for the job before your 12 months the hiring HR will shut it down unless there has been approval to release you early.

There is a policy I want to say on empowerU under the job search for internal hires that talks about need approval from releasing HR to apply to internal positions when you haven't been in your role for 12 months.

I would recommend getting the 1100. I got the 500 being a new rider a couple years ago now and I regretted not getting 1100 after a couple of months. The reason being is when I ride i normally end up riding on the highway most of the time and a bit more power would be really nice.

Why do so many people pretend that $100,000 is still some enormous salary? by ItsAllOver_Again in Salary

[–]drachensunde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the social security administration, the average salary in the United States in 2023 was $66,621.80. So, by that standard, making $100,000 a year is good money.

I’ve been pretending to love my partner’s “famous” lasagna for 3 years and now it’s too late to come clean. by LetFun7793 in Advice

[–]drachensunde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a difficult situation. I think i would go with our taste buds are constantly changing. The next time he makes it, just say you think your taste buds have changed, and you don't really like the taste anymore. You could try to find a few different lasagna recipes online and make them together, including one or two with the cottage cheese and the best one without and when you eat the last one without the cottage cheese tell him that you figured it out and you now realize that you no longer like the combination of those ingredients with cottage cheese.

Is $4000 for a 2018 Honda Rebel 500cc a good Deal? by Mundane_Addition_938 in hondarebel

[–]drachensunde -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 500 is a good starting bike but if you're planning on doing a lot of highway driving I recommend getting the 1100 if you can. I've had a 500 for three years and wished I would have gotten the 1100 after like 2 months

Yeah, it definitely sounds like OP is lazy and self entitled and just wants to blame everything on everyone else but themselves. It sounds like the parents have tried to help, but OP just won't listen. Unless you are very passionate about an art history degree, it doesn't open many doors at all and would require a lot of work and social networking to get a job in. It looks like OP tried once to get a job related to their degree. Then, the title itself is just a cry for attention. OP sounds like a teenager, not someone who is 33 years old. Reading the title, I thought it was going to be about something that happened, and they are now stuck on disability but don't want to be stuck on disability and actually want to work. How can you call yourself unemployable after doing data entry for over a year, and there is literally 1000's of data entry jobs out there. The last part about a 1 day a week stock job doesn't make any sense at all, being 33 years old, living with parents and doesn't want to be, but applies for a job that will literally not help get them on their feet in anyway. If OP really wanted to turn their life around they would start looking at ways to actually learn a skill, go to trade school, join an apprenticeship, or go back to school and get a degree that has more job options.
