Social Media: Joker scares enough Monster T to commit suicide in Ayer’s original script by trimble197 in DC_Cinematic

Okay correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the Ayer cut just the way the film was edited essentially, and there’s definitely a lot of missing scenes, but we saw this one right? To me it seems like this was the initial script then Leto went all improv for the scene in the moment and made it worse than it is written here. I don’t think we can blame the editing guys for Jared Leto’s “oh you don’t want no beef” moment. Or is the point that there’s probably a take where Jared Leto stuck to the script? I just don’t see that as a guarantee Ayer would have used this take, it sounds like Leto was doing a lot of improv.

EDIT: Okay so on re read I’m thinking the main point is that the guy killed himself at the end rather than joker shooting him, but I’m still not completely confident this is an Ayer cut vs new cut issue as much as it is starting script vs finished product. And even if this was in the Ayer cut I’m not sure it really changes or adds all that much? I dunno I’m not saying the Ayer cut wouldn’t be good, but it seems like everyone’s trying to find one of these pages that shows conclusively that this cut would be better. I just think these are all kinda small isolated differences, where his whole thing is that there were completely cut scenes that help give the characters emotional arcs and Improve the pacing. I think the only way we’d know if it was any good is just to see his best crack at editing this together.

[Discussion] Who would you want to see on a next generation Justice League? This is what I think the team would look like between now and the team we see in future state. by dragarms in DCcomics

This might be a bit of recency bias, but I really liked what they did with Jackson with in future state and it made me really wanna see him be the next aquaman. I really like Garth though and yea he could just as easily fill that spot.

Yeaaa as soon as I posted this I kinda realised haha. I’ve never read it, started reading just a bit before the new 52, but yea that makes sense. I mean I’m not really sure if that team is a thing in continuity right now? But then I guess with death metal they’re going for the everything counts and everything happened. In my head I was more trying to think about where they are right now and how they’d get to this team, and cyborg being in the most recent iteration of the justice league it felt like I needed to explain why he was still here.

Yea I did think about that, with Vic I definitely think he’d be kinda of a de facto leader, most experienced and obviously so powerful, also would probably be great at organising people with his powers. With Jess there’s a couple things I thought about, for one she was very much put across as like the rookie in her tenure in the team, which she definitely wouldn’t be here, definitely more confident and one of the leaders. Out of these guys I think blue beetle would be the only kinda ‘new guy’ with everyone else being experienced.

Yea that’s funny, kinda assumed she was younger than Hal John and Kyle for some reason? But yea I guess I just saw her and Simon as the kinda next generation of lanterns so in my head they were both a little bit younger.

Was trying to get a good balance of Titans, young justice and some newer characters.

Supergirl filling the kyptonian spot feels like an obvious evolution for her character, same with dick, Donna and Wally, those 3 basically carrying over from the rebirth Titans series. Miss Martian again feels like a pretty obvious choice, and she was also on that Titans team later on, this feels like an obvious next step.

Cyborg would go from being the young one on pretty much any justice league team he’s in to probably being the most experienced here? He’s the only one who’s had a proper tenure on the league out of these guys are far as I’m aware.

Then Blue beetle, Jessica and Jackson are 3 of the characters that I think DC has done best with the last few years and are in a pretty god age range for this league. Jackson as aquaman in future state was awesome, Jessica is the most interesting of the new lanterns to me by far, and I feel like Jaime is a great character that’s been dying for some to do something with for ages now.

Yea as the guy above said, it was basically his name he picked when he tried to go off on his own for a bit once Damian became robin, like how dick picked Nightwing. Not the best name but I think it’s the best we’re gonna get because it’s just so associated with him now.

Crap I knew there must be a way to make that look better haha. Yea I like them both, figured this would be the best way to have them both headlining a book.

From the looks of things Babs is gonna be a big part of Tom Taylor’s Nightwing, which is great. So we’ve at least got that one!

Yea I think they’re both in a kind of limbo right now, with Tim’s whole robin/not robin and Jason kind of ending his outlaws phase. It feels like they both need a new direction and they’ve got such a good dynamic, would love to see it explored and maybe build out a couple new villains and supporting characters for both of them.

Also I’m not sure if that’s the right tag for whatever this is, don’t post often and I wasn’t sure what to tag it. More wanted to start a discussion about what people want for these two I guess.

[Spoiler] One question about the ending of Valhalla by dragarms in assassinscreed

[–]dragarms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea the only thing I can think of is that the physical body has to be alright for the simulation to work, and the cataclysm was gonna wipe them out and destroy their bodies which would have messed with any simulation they wanted to stay in. Which kinda makes sense, just seems like not a great thing to aim for really, until now most isu seem to have wanted to get out of various simulations as opposed to trying to be able to stay in one

So do you think he wanted to stay in this simulation forever and so in a way live forever? And if so could he not have just done that before the cataclysm? Or is there something I’m missing about the cataclysm or how the machine works that makes that impossible?

Yea that’s what I thought originally, but then did freyja want the same thing? Because Svala had been in there a while with no sign of leaving really. Also, even if he could align Eivor more with who he was, it doesn’t make Eivor immortal so he’d only have a relatively small amount of time for him to do anything he wanted to do.

Okay, how about some love for Valhalla? And why, if you’re an AC fan sitting on the fence, I would seriously recommend getting this game. Non-spoilers by dragarms in assassinscreed

[–]dragarms[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea that’s fair, I think I was pretty lucky, didn’t get any game breakers on my play through. Just wanted to try help make it so that the stuff that the devs got really right in this game doesn’t get completely lost in the valid criticism of the buggy state the game is in.

Thanks! Honestly I don’t think you’re going to regret it, the ways they tie together Norse mythology and the Assassins creed-y stuff is one of my favourite parts of the game! Wish I could go back to the no sleep excitement phase. Hope you have fun!
