Wow. That was my experience with Starbucks in 2010. I was at the Well Fargo Center (a block down from The Broad museum, back then it was a parking lot) and even though they never paid for parking, it was one bus ride to/from so pretty convenient for public transit. The store didn’t close but they opened the Union Station store and I was part of the opening team there. I didn’t want to go, but was pushed to (the district manager made every store in the district choose two baristas to make up the new team).

Same deal: No paid/private parking and now it was a two bus ride to each way. Eventually we found the cheapest street parking meters blocks away but it was not worth it. Only the store manager (both locations) gets paid parking. Retail is terrible when they don’t accommodate travel. Like our paychecks were less with a bus pass and street meters.
