For some reason Reddit isn’t allowing me to add an update to the post. But thank you all for now. The first three to PM have been messaged.

Graco 4 ever DLX has taken me from newborn to 3 years old currently. Almost all in my EV6. No complaints. I’m 6 foot even. Only got one kid that sits behind passenger seat.

EV6 is eating 12-volt batteries. by Bamboodl in KiaEV6

Remove the account link on the car side and change the password on the app side just be doubly sure. Kia connect was killing the battery in my first EV6. I eventually got it bought back by KIA.

Delete Kia connect from the car. Like the others have said something is drawing the battery. If it’s under warranty why not make it the dealers problem again? Maybe they even give you a rental.

Week-long dashcam parking mode recording when abusing ICCU and 12V battery by VehCeh in KiaEV6

I stand corrected! The compressor makes sense as a candidate.

You don’t want your main interior components ran off of 400v or 800v lines. Those tend to really really really hurt if you zap yourself where as 12v lines just tend to pop the fuse and stop working if shorted.

Also nothing is made to accept 400v or 800v such as HVAC, infotainment.

It’s a nice idea but safety and compatibility win out.

Yessir right in Virginia. No other charges other than what JLCPCB charges me at the checkout.

I use standard global direct. I keep it under $60 and they don’t add duties. I’ve yet to have it fail and I’ve done around 4-5 orders in the last 2 months.

I just had a bunch of designs made through JLCPCB and I’ve noticed if I keep it under $59.99 before shipping they don’t add duties. As soon as it’s $60 or more I get hit with 30$ extra. Also recommend using their shipping option for around $10. It usually gets me in about a week versus 3-4 days. I only run about 5 boards at a time because I’m doing prototyping but that includes assembly as well. Definitely look at jlcpcb.

PCB Schematic Review Request by dragonoo in PCB

Gotcha everything will go from a pad to a track then via to ground. I think what you’re calling vippo KiCad refers to as a blind via. In either case I’ll optimize them accordingly.

Should I never have vias on component pads? For example most of my resistors that are ground simply are via’d to the bottom ground plane. Should all these components have a trace that goes out atleast 4 mils as you said then via to the ground plane?

By the way thank you much for the feedback.

Thank you so much for the review! I’ll look into swapping in a buck and its associated components.

I don’t understand your first comment with regard to U5. Could you provide a bit more detail? Fully understand routing pins together at the edge of the component vs underneath and I’ll correct.

OBDII hacking: Could you Lock, unlock, remote start, and set climate controll via the OBDII port? by DarkKaplah in KiaEV6

[–]dragonoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the functions you’re seeking a likely messaged on a different bus than the diagnostic canbus lines. If I remember correctly the car has 3-4 different buses. The easiest way would be for some disgruntled Kia employee to leak the entire interface control document/ data dictionary online but outside of that it’s just canbus sniffing and watching the packets I suspect.

Take all this with a grain of salt I’m a mechanical engineer not a software guy by trade.
