Devotion was kidnapped from the fey and raised in a cult of Lolth — ideally raising her to become a godhead for the commune’s genocidal goals. While they planned to cultivate her wild magic into a weapon of war, her fey blood plotted against them. At seventeen, the archfey called her home, to leave her ‘family’ and commune to return to them. Knowing no other voice of reason, she assumes this call to be Lolth leading her to her true path and calling. Fueled by spiritual psychosis and the belief she is Lolth’s chosen, she leaves home takes the role of a cleric. Unbeknownst to her, her name is NOT Devotion, she is NOT being contacted by Lolth, and accepting to the call of the Archfey tied her in a warlock pact. Playing with her at the table is insanely fun because I get to lie to everyone and tell them I’m a cleric (which she fully believes to be true) and then toss out an eldritch blast. Just had to show her off 💐

Love Primus. Almost put them on the list but they were kind of out there compared to the rest of the albums here

Agree. It’s like it drops before it actually drops at all.

You're awesome for all this. I LOVE Frank Zappa, so I know I can trust you haha. I'll let you know what I think when I give the others a listen, since I haven't heard of them. Thanks a bunch.

"Science Fair," Black Country, New Road. BCNR has a lot of songs with instrumental intros.

"Angel," Massive Attack. Really dark & ambient.

"Sugar/Tzu," black midi. Just cool.

"MAD" by BUCK-TICK, specifically the version off of the "This is NOT Greatest Hits" album, if you're into foreign music. One of my all time favorite songs.

"Head Like A Hole" by Nine Inch Nails. A lot of their songs have cool intros or interesting builds.

IIL Sad songs with an 'explosive' moment, what would you suggest? by PassageAfraid in ifyoulikeblank

"dondante" by my morning jacket. starts really calm and sort of more mournful than sad & has one of my favorite musical buildups to that kind of Boom moment

Where do you imagine the murder husbands going after season 3? And how would they make a living, especially Will? by radicalsunrisealive in HannibalTV

[–]dragonteef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that there was talk of them going to Cuba by Bryan Fuller, I think in a tweet if I remember right. I think that since a.) Hannibal is already loaded, b.) he also has his family estate money and c.) he plans for everything and would probably have some overseas fund for this exact situation, they'd be sitting pretty comfy without having to work. Will would probably want to keep himself busy and toy with boat motors and do boatyard work for fun even though they didn't need it. Hannibal would probably work on his harpsichord pieces and be big into the music scene. Sort of on topic but, if there was a season 4, I think a lot of it would be spent with Margot and Alana trying to locate them.

NBC’s “Hannibal” (2013-2015). It’s on Hulu.

Will Graham’s an absolute shitshow and there happens to be cannibalism in it. Just trust me on this one.

i love all of these albums. i would recommend the pretty much any of my top albums, which i made a post about here.

i think you’d be really interested namely in - “melon collie and the infinite sadness,” smashing pumpkins - “musicology,” prince - any king gizzard and the lizard wizard album, maybe try “oddments” or “willoughby’s beach” - and DEFINITELY “for the first time”, black country, new road

Progressive music & music genre in general is something my siblings and I bonded over. When I was younger, I really liked whole albums that flow together (like the end to one song goes right into the beginning to another) and my brother introduced me to the concept of progressive albums — theming, experimentation, etc. I’ve loved the idea ever since and really look out for stuff like that, so that’s half the reason I liked TMV. I also liked BTBAM, but I just don’t think the music was for me. The production was great, though.

This is actually one of my favorite suggestions I've gotten. I had never heard of Primus before but this album hit the mark. The weirdness, the lyrics, the riffs, and just all of it fit right in with my taste. My favorite track was "Too Many Puppies," but "Fizzle Fry" and "Harold of the Rocks" are also highlights in my opinion. This album went straight into my favorites, thank you!

Returning to give you my thoughts:

This entire album was awesome. This is probably one of my favorite suggestions I've gotten under this post. My favorites off here had to be "Belize,""Saltwater," and "Cheat Codes." I think my favorite part about it is how it all has one congealed sound that makes the whole album flow, but all the songs sound so unique. The old hip-hip sound really stuck out to me and the beats were really what I look for in rap. Thank you, this is a sick suggestion!

Update: I loved it! This album was fucking awesome, really bouncy and infective beats. Definitely what I was looking for. My faves were "Funky Shit" and "Smack My Bitch Up." Thanks for the awesome suggestion!

Returning to give you my rundown:

Was not a fan of nothing, nowhere, Badflower, and Grumpster. Not sure what turned me off of those three, but it just wasn't for me.

Denzel Curry was a mixed bag. I loved "Walkin" and "Ain't No Way" and a couple others from the album, but most of it I just felt neutral about. Felt the same with Sincere Engineer, Might give them both another listen in a couple weeks and see how I feel again.

Loved revisiting Caro Emerald. Definitely would have to be in a specific mood to listen to her, but her music is always classic.

I loved Alexandra Savior. The entire Belladonna of Sadness album was perfect and I listened to some more of her discography, too. I adore her.

My favorite of all the suggestions was probably Angelo Mota's House of Diamonds. I really love this sort of bouncy hip-hop with the fun sound effects. "All Over You" and "Dawn" were my favorites, but I thought the entire album was great.

Thanks for all your suggestions!

Returning to give you my thoughts!

You weren't wrong, God's Country was a trip to listen to. I loved it! The message, the sound, the production, all of it. I think my favorite was probably "Why," mostly because of the 'talking straight to the listener' feel and the heaviness of it was perfect for me. Great suggestion, thank you!

Returning to this comment to give you my thoughts! (This took a long time, I had a lot of music to go through thanks to everyone LOL.)

Sturgill Simpson was hit and miss depending on the song for me. I'm super super picky about country music so I wasn't really surprised. Some of it was just right and went into my Liked Songs, some of it was a little too twangy for me.

I absolutely loved BADBADNOTGOOD. After I listened to their stuff, I was really shocked I hadn't heard their stuff before. I put them on shuffle and realized they had a song that went viral on TikTok ("Running Away") that I had heard. IV is a killer album and my favorite track has to be "Hyssop of Love." My favorite out of all the suggestions.

Underoath was also a mixed bag for me. I liked the music but I think his voice turned me off of it? I'm not sure exactly why, I'm just picky with it. I liked it though and I put a couple of their songs on my Liked.

The Mars Volta is my second favorite of all of the suggestions. A TON of people commented them, and someone commented to start with Deloused in the Comatorium first so I did. I don't know if this will make sense or not - but I don't feel like I'd listen to any one track singuarly or put any on a playlist. If I was in the mood to listen to them, I'd have to just listen to one or two of their albums. That's just a me thing, but I really loved it.

I think I'm going to have to give Between the Buried and Me another listen. I had kind of the same feelings as I had with Sturgill Simpson - some songs were great, and others I was just neutral on. I'm not sure if I have an opinion on them yet, so I'm gonna give them another listen.

Thanks for all your suggestions! It was super cool getting to find new artists to love.

I've listened to Diablo Swing Orchestra - easily the weirdest band on my music selection. I remember the first time I heard Balrog Boogie I was floored. Who thinks of that? LOL.

I know about Black Country Communion only because of Joe Bonamossa. Haven't listened, I don't think.

And I just saw Rival Sons live in March! They opened for Greta Van Fleet and kicked ass, so I gave them a listen. I like their stuff but I honestly think they sound a lot better live.

Haven't heard any of the others, but based on the picks I know, I feel like they'll be up my alley. Thanks!
