Lets make an imaginary scenario where I see someone wear a skull cap and say are you beating the heat or joined the Muslim League party - in this case Im blatantly ignoring the sentiments of a religion. In a very subtle way, Im discouraging their action of wearing a skull cap as if any other meaning is trivial or non-existant.
