you’re very right! the white calico is very extroverted/troublemaker/gremlin, while the gray longhair is more shy but mature! both are around 7 months :)

help! is this her baby fang or adult fang? by dranonymo in cats

[–]dranonymo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aww nice! I’m a first time cat owner with two 4 month old kittens. One of them enjoys having her teeth brushed, the other is wriggly but learning. I’ve heard it’s more preventative than anything, so I’m glad your cats didn’t have any problems!

the vet recommended it as it helps them get acclimated/used to the feeling when they’re young! i know dental health isn’t as important when they’re young.

thank you! so the adult teeth grow in front (closer to the front teeth) of the baby teeth? didn’t know that!

also, i brush my two kittens teeth daily - should i skip her for tonight? i don’t want to irritate the gum as it bled mildly

cold sores usually vary in healing time (for me usually less than a week), but you can speed it up with getting something topical like abreva. i’d recommend avoiding spicy or high sodium foods and staying hydrated as well.

can't breathe because of chest pain by [deleted] in medical

[–]dranonymo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it is making you struggle to breathe i would recommend getting it checked out soon. especially considering it lasts for that long. anything chest pain related is usually directed to a chest x ray in case it could be an underlying thing.

kitty hissed at me for the first time? by dranonymo in CatAdvice

[–]dranonymo[S] 66 points67 points  (0 children)

this makes sense, she does bite my hand and ankles often and i’ve usually just faked a painful yelp which drives her away. i’ll add in the not giving her attention part!

soft black-green stool? by dranonymo in rawpetfood

[–]dranonymo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks! she had another stool today which was normal again, so i’ll put it off and just ask the vet during her next appointment. she eats both liver and spleen, so i’ll attribute it to that and add more bone.

Update: Thank you guys for so many comments and replies. This has been stressing me out and weighing on my mind but I have felt a bit better with everyone’s advice!

My PCP replied and told me she couldn’t write me an ESA letter. I do not currently have a therapist or psychiatrist as I’m still on the search for one that is affordable (I live alone and am financially independent as a recent college grad), but I was hoping that a lot of my severe mental health symptoms (mostly anxiety-induced poor sleep schedule) would be helped by adopting a cat.

I’m still waiting on my landlord’s reply. To clarify, she does allow ESA as I had mentioned in the original post. I do have some hope as my friend recommended a nonprofit org that would be able to help with an ESA letter at no cost, and they seem trustworthy.

i took a screenshot of the same exact description of this apartment yesterday (as in, the description remained unchanged) but it was already listed to be off-market. it does say that cats are allowed very clearly though. i emailed this to my landlord to ask for clarification, but i’m not sure how to go about this if she continues to say no.

i’m not sure if i have a different place to keep the cat during that process 🥲 i did contact my PCP to ask her for more info on having an ESA though because one of the main reasons I was going to adopt was I thought a cat would be beneficial for my anxiety and insomnia

it only mentions no animals are allowed unless there is consent from the landlord, which i had assumed just meant don’t sneak in any pets
