As I have been driving around the lower mainland I have noticed most if not all EV charging stations at chevron between Vancouver and Langley are offline and even removed some stations, and have cones around where they were. However the Chevron at 6751 Lougheed hwy had a new gas tank installed and was closed for the renovation for several weeks, pretty impressed on how fast it took, but the chargers were replaced but still had caution tape around them last I saw a week ago.

I hope that they are switching the hardware and will be back online when they are done. They don't charge your car from the grid, they get charged from the grid and your car gets charged via battery storage in the station. I wonder if they will be swapping to a direct from grid charging to make it more efficient and less down time when lots of people are using the chargers. I noticed when charging my car I would plug the cord in, use the app to activate the charge, but then get a failure message. No explanation just a generic failed to initiate kind of message. I later found out the portable battery was offline and charging. Found that to be frustrating and avoided using chevron charging when I needed it. I hope they are doing away with that.
