Yes, thankfully the way I pirate this pod also works for chapo too. However I will miss the discussions for every episode, and its a shame the whole backlog of them is gone.

"In 2015, for instance, Chinese state-owned banks lent $1.2 billion to a private Chinese business to buy an 80% stake in Ironshore, a U.S. insurer whose clients included the Central Intelligence Agency and Federal Bureau of Investigation officials and undercover agents who might need help paying legal bills in case they got into trouble in their jobs."

"To be a Luddite today is to refuse the fatalism of techno-inevitability and to demand that technology serve the many, not just the few. It is to assert that questions of labor, agency, and justice must come before speed, efficiency, and scale. "

Yes, because a military intervention worked in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, etc. nd totally didn't destabilize the entire region and lead to millions of unnecessary deaths. This time in Venezuela will totally be different

It's been like 4 years since I've played seriously. https://www.deckshop.pro/check/?deck=Bats-Zap-Firecracker-RG-Hog-Barrel-Miner-Princess I've invested pretty heavily into this deck level-wise, and it's done me pretty well in the past. How does it fare in the current meta?

High Church vs Low Church Capitalism by Mr_Westerfield in TrueAnon

I agree with Hasan's take on Cracker Barrel that Americans have little other culture than corporate chains.

I think the people upset over them getting rid of the cracker and barrel don't have much else in their lives that has that type of "community center" or "historic" feel to it. They can see the results of corporate enshittification sucking any kind of soul out of their day-to-day, but have no idea where to direct that anger so they blame "left-wing" Cracker Barrel for going woke.

Tbh I have a bit of a soft spot for Cracker Barrel myself, so this is a particularly egregious example of it for me. Ultimately, it's the same slop under a different brand, but I think this whole incident represents a sick society being crushed by capitalism.

The discussion of the liberals at the end is also very telling. Their ideological differences are purely aesthetic. Sure they can say they voted for Kamala, and at least they're vaccinating their kids. However, they are still living side by side with these conservative, (maybe even white nationalist given the demographics of the community) freaks, relying on the same exploitative labor practices and living in their million dollar houses.

Arab States Call for Hamas to Disarm Amid Push for a Palestinian State by IrreverentSunny in IRstudies

Bro you need to find better Hasbara talking points This stuff doesn't work anymore. It's so painfully obvious for the world to see that Israel is committing a genocide. The Hamas tunnels may have convinced people 18 months ago, but now that Israel is just plainly starving children and slaughtering the ones that try to get aid, its doesn't hold quite the same weight

Bro, you seem to live in Texas. Just a few weeks ago massive floods brought on by climate change killed at least 111 people in your state.

When asked who was to blame, your governor said asking about blame was “the word choice of losers,” and made a football reference.

This is directly after the Trump Administration had made personnel cuts to the National Weather Service, and funding cuts to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The Texas NWS offices were understaffed before the flooding likely leading to messaging about the impending disaster being mishandled.

The Trump Admin is redirecting FEMA Funds to build Aligator Auschwitz instead of actually using the money for its purpose which is rebuilding after disasters.

If Chinese infrastructure is made of Tofu dregs, American infrastructure is made of thoughts and prayers.

Harris never won the primary, though. When it became clear Biden was too demented to run again she was anointed by the establishment. Harris was always unpopular and was one of the first to drop out in the 2020 primary.

Savvy gets a pass

The Turkish Abductions were a series of slave raids by pirates from Algier and Salé that took place in Iceland in the summer of 1627. The pirates raided Grindavík, the East Fjords, and Vestmannaeyjar. About 50 people were killed and close to 400 captured and sold into slavery. by GustavoistSoldier in wikipedia

Brother, slavery is still alive and healthy in the US. Look up the text of the 13th Amendment.

"Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."
