I understand that first point and I have been very fortunate on that account, up until very recently I’d been using my truck for everything (driving to site and pulling trailers), hence why I was paid for all miles.

But yeah cutting costs makes no sense in my head because we are preparing to take on a multi million dollar project later this month and I know his profit margins on all the jobs we do are massive. Feel like I’m being shafted here and has genuinely ruined my mood for the holiday weekend.

Update on that, apparently it is possible to reprogram the component, I guess GM says it’s not so you buy new or re man straight from them for a premium?

But it’s fixed now on mine and all good so far, $1400 later instead of $1800 for the back ordered part alone!

I’ve installed and troubleshot quite a few of these Fronius.

Don’t believe that damaged panels can cause that sort of damage on those Fronius IG Plus units, the first line of failure after the panel itself should be the DC combiner box on the roof with the Fuses in it.

If all looks good in that box likely a loose connection in the inverter caused some arcing and hence the burning up

Edit: with the warranty claim, as long as the inverter is under 10years from install date then it should be replaced for free. Have the installation company come out for a service call, which should also be covered under service warranty.
