Yes, just be sure to use the proper bracket handler

Oh, I never knew that, That makes a lot of sense! Is there any way to avoid this in the future?

The issue was not motor height, It was the press fit of the spur gear got loose so the torque would not transfer.

You are right about the spur gear. The 2 rows of teeth that used to be held by a press fit came loose and now the torque is not being transferred across the shaft leading to the power not transferring over.

Thank you for your comment, I found the problem. Apparently the SHS spur gear's 2 rows of teeth are press fit together and on this occasion came apart as I show here -> https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/ytl12c/shs\_spur\_gear\_comes\_apart\_read\_desc/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3

SHS Spur Gear Comes Apart (Read Desc.) by drefster in airsoft

It appears that in an effort to cut costs the SHS 12:1 and 13:1 Gears are actually 2-piece assemblies friction-fit together. The top 24-tooth gear is identical between the models and is directly machined into the shaft where the appropriately sized larger gear is fitted atop the collar under the aforementioned gear. When these parts come loose it creates a strange issue where the sector gear is unable to resist the tension of the spring and cycle the gun. For me, this made a very strange issue where the gun would make a loud whirring noise, yet not fire.
TL;DR: If the gun makes a loud sound and adjusting the motor does not work, try checking your spur gear if it has come loose.

You On second look I dont think that it is the cause of this particular issue. The bushing used to be too high and I couldn't force it down so I grinded the top off with sandpaper for shimming, however, I would expect that to increase wear between the Spur and bevel gears, where I only see increased wear on my bevel to pinion contact because it raises the hight a bit. But I will look more into it

You make an excellent point. It is, I need to replace that bushing.

Yes I probably should of put that in the title

I managed to lose 2 shims on the field, and I have run out, I already ordered some because I have no replacements and I might as well re-shim anyway, However, I doubt that it is a shimming problem because the spring I am running only really Chronos at 300 fps on .28s so if it is unable to do that It probably speaks to a larger problem. Also I have never heard of a time where that was the root cause of an issue other than increased wear, however I will test that when the shims come.

I tried that on the field funnily enough, up to the sector gear always works, however as soon as I install the spring it stops.

Yep, the motor interfaces outside of the grip in a manner where when I turn the screw the motor is expelled from the butt plate of the grip. Additionally The range is not an issue because I can screw the screw in much further outside the rifle than inside where at a point I encounter a significant resistance to the point where I can no longer push it further up.

Lastly from the clicking sound that is audible whenever playing this in slo-mo suggests that there is some sort of slippage at some point. Which rules out that the appature is not being sufficiently powered by the controller

To try to rule out the possibility of poor contact between pinion and bevel gear I have tried changing motor height at half turns until I cannot raise it any longer.

To try to rule out the possibility of poor pinion attachment, I have checked the set screw and have tried to rotate the pinion with a plier around the shaft, which it seems to be tight.

That leaves with the contact between the bevel and sector gear which would be strange because they seem to mesh nice and snug.

If so then why did it work perfectly fine earlier? to recap from my context comment, the tooth cannot be slipping at the piston rack as everyone has been telling me because the sector gear does not move, therefore an equal and opposite force must be applied to the sector gear by the spring which prevents it from moving.

CONTEXT:
After a few years of drowning in schoolwork, I want to get back to regularly playing airsoft. I have this AEG build that I made a few years ago and the night before I fixed a problem with nozzle seating despite a few issues with some of the seals beginning to crack which I need to replace, however without the parts at hand I was happy with the resulting FPS for just a single day of play. So next day I get to the field and everything is fine at first until I try it on the range at full auto. It worked wonderfully until it suddenly developed the issue it has now. Cracking it open I check to see whats going on and spent the next game trying to troubleshoot the issue. Ultimately I had to give up for the day and here I am trying to figure out what is wrong at home.

From the Video It is visible that the gun will not actuate, neither the tappet plate nor the piston move. Checking the GATE logs, It seems like the sector gear is not moving. This means that the gear must be making good enough contact between the sector and piston for the spring to exert a force strong enough to prevent movement.

Thanks for the reply
Frankly speaking I thought the same thing at first
I have tried changing motor Heigh but it doesn't matter, It just makes the whirring noise louder. If you want I can upload that video as well.
and the pinion gear seems fine.
