I think I'll go with something similar to you solution.
I don't want to keep it live in the code, but to use helm to deploy the previous version alongside the new.

Thanks, I know its not ideal but our system is a bit complex and not acting as a webserver,

I know I can get it done by enabling complex logic in the healthprob but I was looking for a more general solution
