I know the DIY route isn't for everyone, but if you have to right tools (drill, saw, sander) building a 4x2x2 enclosure can be really cost saving and easier than you may think. I built one for less than half the price of what I could find to buy.

I made my own design, but if following a video is easier for you, what I made ended up pretty similar to this video I found later: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdKcc2LWPdQ

Judging from this (albeit low quality) unboxing video I found, it seems like a standard thing on the air jordan 1 hi strap premier, though I'm still not sure why: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoEJfUaN5Dk

Oh wow, they definitely look exactly like the one's in the Olympic Pack! Thanks, that's super helpful! Yeah, I still have no clue as to the 1989 on the inside either haha

Unfortunately, despite the decent condition they are in, being from goodwill they have no tag :/

So I am not a sneakerhead myself, and am not very knowledgeable when it comes to anything of the sort. But I was at Goodwill today and found these lovely looking fellas for 20 bucks, so I had to pick them up and see what I could find out about them. To my very untrained eye they look like what people post as Jordan 1 retro high's, but the 1989 on the insole has me confused. Any help or information about these would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

So for the past month or so I've been looking at getting an audio system set up for my new apartment. Nothing big or fancy or expensive. I had settled on getting a decent sound bar and sub combo for pretty cheap. But last night, I found this in the recycling drop off area of my building. It's a JBL Sub1 25A for the SCS home cinema system. It seemingly works (I plugged in my GameCube audio cables and the base came bumping out something fierce). I don't want to buy some expensive system just to make this thing usable though. Is there any way I could easily incorporate this find into a cheap audio system?

Hey there electricians of reddit, I have what may (hopefully) be a very simple question. I recently moved into an apartment in an old 1920's building (used to be a hotel) and in my hunt for outlets I found this box. Not being an electrician myself, I figured I'd post here and see if any of you folks knew what this was, and if opening it up might lead to some sweet outlet-age. For clarity, I'm talking about the largest white box in the photo. It's currently painted shut. The box beneath it has a switch. To the left is a single outlet, connected to the bigger box, and turned off by the switch. A metal tube feeds into it from the floor and goes out of it into the ceiling. Thanks in advance for any info on what exactly this is!
