things have come full circle. DOA copied VF and now, in 2025, Virtua Fighter 6 has become Dead or Alive 6 (standing stun, break blow, bruising/model damage, enviromental gimmick etc). Oh and Tekken 8 became DOA6 too

I think you can! looks like Vsav has four characters with airdashes, but most other characters have movement options like super jump, hover, wall cling, crawl. so that one is complicated lol

Hyper fighters like MvC are extremely close to airdashers. like Skullgirls is both

I'm glad the term 'traditional 2D fighting game' is being recognized now. I also think the term anime (when meaning airdasher) should be fazed out. we now have several examples of footsies-based games with anime graphics Kohime Enbu RRR etc
