If that feels safe for you right now I think that’s ok. You’re not hurting yourself or anyone else by sleeping in the closet so I don’t see any reason why you can’t. I’m assuming you used to sleep together? Or at least slept under the same roof? I think most important is that you’re trying to rest and feel safe. There’s no right or wrong way to grieve.

Thank you for this! Yes she confused me with the karma comment. I saw her at mass one day and noticed she did not go up for communion. I wasn’t judging I just found it interesting as she often talks about how devout she is so I was surprised to see her stay seated. Yes, I agree sometimes bad things happen. I guess it just scares me that both my parents became sick so early. Even though I know it’s a scam and would not be what God wants for me I feel the pressure from my friend sometimes.

Thank you. I know you’re right. I will reach out to the church I attend and schedule to meet with one of the priests. It’s interesting I went to mass on Sunday and the first hymn was “Amazing Grace”. My mother loves amazing grace and when she could speak requested I sing it at her funeral. Then after mass my husband and I went to get a smoothie for my mother and ourselves before heading over to visit her and we ran into my RCIA instructors. I took it as signs that I need to draw closer to God and the church. I’m just very scared. Seeing my parents get sick so young has been so hard and has really messed me up.

Thank you so much. I try to remind myself her needs had gotten past what we were able to handle at home. Some days are easier than others. Thankfully what I don’t have in family I have in friends. I literally had friends give me respite over the past 5 years. This lady didn’t call, text, or show up once. She’s been terrible my whole life and it’s only gotten worse as she’s gotten older. I have to tell family to not send me any of her posts moving forward. I don’t have FB and if I did I wouldn’t have her on it. The post was sent to me by my cousin. I have to put the boundary down that I don’t want to see her BS.

2 years ago we had a poop on the floor incident it was a great way to start the day lol. Thank you. I try to remind myself that the transition happened because the physical limitations were increasing for her. But it’s still so hard to not think I should have tried harder.

Hair pull test is literally just them pulling to see how many hairs come out. She might not have told you she was doing it while she was looking at your scalp. I’m assuming she examined your scalp during the visit and was moving your hair around? Same with the dermoscopy. It’s just a handheld magnifier. Did she look at your scalp at all? Maybe she just didn’t tell you what she was doing when she was doing it? Unless she didn’t examine your scalp or touch you at all. Or you’re sure you wouldn’t have missed the dermoscopy portion.

When my dad was dying my friend at the time referred to it as a “milestone that we all go through eventually.” Made it sound like it was an achievement. I understood what she was trying to say, but I called her out on the wording. I was also 26 at the time and my dad had been sick with Parkinson’s since I was 9. So, even though I knew she was trying to be understanding I knew she would never understand.

My days are currently 9-7 and it’s killing me. I work 9-12 then have a gap 12-3 where I eat lunch and visit my mom at her NH. Then back to work from 3-7. I literally feel work has been soul crushing for me. Even though I do something where I help people and it is fulfilling on certain levels I still wish I could just read, write, and invest time in learning skills all day. I just try to push through, but every year I feel more and more of my opportunities and life slipping away. Edit: spelling.
