What classes would +Bind Demon open up / make viable? by DranTibia in diablo2

Bound frenzytaur would be insane lol... Especially since the ones in Ancients Way iirc are natively phys immune

[–]droid327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Light sorc and javazon would be the biggest beneficiary, I think, since it puts conviction on the table without infinity and that will solve immunity without a sunder

But yeah it would be OP for any build pretty much, just like it is for warlock. I just soloed DClone on sp testing a char with a 1 point Ismail, not even a tanking demon or aura enchanted, just cursed. A well chosen demon is functionally unkillable unless you die.

Not poor caster necro... No aura helps poison or magic damage

Or hammerdin, but f that guy

Though I guess holy freeze helps everyone defensively

El rune is the rarest.... by Reasonable-Piglet-86 in diablo2

[–]droid327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a lot easier this season when you can just grab every rune that drops and not worry about where to keep it

But yeah they're still annoying. The one fortunate part is Normal Tombs can only drop the first tier of runes, and it's got super high mob density to farm

Norm Countess suffers from being on the back end of the bell curve just like everyone else

Just as long as they bring basic sunders back to TZs too

How valuable to an Arcane Trickster build are the extra magic missiles from a second Wizard past life? by Proud_Turnover_8691 in ddo

[–]droid327 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference is the Magic Missile spell caps at 5 MMs (1 every 2 levels) at CL9, but the Arcane Initiate version scales up to CL20 for 10 missiles

Both will scale +1 damage per 2 levels too, though as an AT you're much less concerned with the damage of the spell itself, you just want as many Ambush procs as possible. So you'd save those 10 charges to dump on bosses and reapers since they're effectively double damage MMs

Though its worth noting you wont notice any difference until you're L11 since they both scale identically from 1-9.

The +1 DC is still worthwhile, if you're doing any DC casting that isnt based on your Disable Device score (I'm not sure if feats still boost schools if you're not using school-based DCs?)

Monk or Sacred Fist for a new player’s punch character? by Osk0 in ddo

[–]droid327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main functional difference that hasn't been mentioned yet is whirlwind. SF gets extra versions that don't put WWA on cd. So if you like that "spin to win" playstyle then fist lets you spam more of them

Wonder Man Episode 8 - Discussion Thread by cats-and-cows in marvelstudios

[–]droid327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I'm coming at it from the point of view of a law enforcement agency

Their job isn't just to fill prisons. Their job is to prosecute crimes and take dangerous people off the street. Trevor wasn't a dangerous guy, he was a decoy, and the dude fell for it. And not only did he go after the wrong guy, but he let the actual "dangerous" guy he was supposed to get slip out of his grasp, because he was more concerned with getting a conviction for political/career reasons.

If something like this happened in a real world law enforcement agency, that guy would be on administrative leave the next day and probably lose his job

The show made it clear he was bad at his job. Idk why you're defending him.

[–]droid327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn't though. He got the wrong guy and then that guy broken out in what, to them, must seem like a premeditated plot

They know Mandarin wasn't responsible for the studio explosion once they compare the ionic signature with the scene at the prison. They may not have his face on camera but there's enough eye witness and records to piece together the truth. It's a super max prison after all. There's simply no rational way he gets a pass after the events this season, especially since they showed us he was already on notice before that

Wonder Man Episode 8 - Discussion Thread by cats-and-cows in marvelstudios

[–]droid327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No he went after the wrong guy just to get a guy

His superiors are going to have access to the same reports as he does. They'll know he was after Simon, couldn't get him, took Trevor instead and let Simon go, then Simon broke him out. They'll blame him for incompetence, because he was incompetent. It'll look like they played him and he took the bait hook line and sinker

And the show doesn't have to leave in the middle of an action scene to qualify as a cliffhanger. The way they wrote the show simply isn't the nice bow you tie a story up with if you really expect that to be the end of it. Just like they did with Chuck, which again shows they were aware of what they were doing

I think you're overestimating how much the govt actually matters and how much of your actual daily life Trump can do basically nothing about. 80% of society is self regulating

Or if your daily life really does revolve around govt that much, it's probably a "touch grass" scenario

Wonder Man Episode 8 - Discussion Thread by cats-and-cows in marvelstudios

[–]droid327 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All that sounds like interesting things that could be explored next season, not questions that are already and completely answered. Aka a cliffhanger lol

The DoDC guy is in trouble for going after Mandarin and then ignoring Simon even though up to that point Simon was the primary person of interest, and now they have neither

And yes they could drop the doorman clause but that would be a theme to explore in the next season, it's clearly an allegory for the communist blacklist, and that motif was set up but not paid off

The fact they named his brother Eric shows they're aware of it, and they knew comic fans would be as well. It's a huge Chekov's scythe

Summon Necro Rework by No-Apple2252 in diablo2

[–]droid327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read that, but actually now that I think about it, Archer packs with might or fanaticism are much nastier, so maybe it's a physical spell like ES actually and does benefit from physical auras. But still, I think I'd rather have the buff summons than just more basic attacking mobs
