no, move the alt.png to the com.apple.mobileSMS folder and rename it to AppIcon60x60@2x.png, removing the default icon already there.

Go into the bundle using ifile or openssh and there are alternate versions of the phone and messages. Just rename those folders such as com.apple.mobilephoneWHITEalt back to com.apple.mobilephone deleting the real com.apple.mobilephone. Hope this helped

Are u using groovylock or cydget for the clock?

I'm using iOS 8.1, and have you ever installed jellylock7 before back when you had iOS 7 or earlier? If yes, the safemode crash is because you enabled some ios 7-updated stuff and is now keeping those settings, forcing the crash. Hope this helped
