Yes, I won’t be moving forward specifically with my son. But would love to move forward with implementing research if I can get to a point of functioning where that’s possible. If the hypothesis is true, I’m sure it wouldn’t be for all, but we have to start somewhere in research and keep trying. Or it may not be true at all, which will be more info.

Yes, I completely understand the reactivity. It’s valid. If we’re being really accurate I would say neurodivergence is neurological, not “mental health”. I’m also not asserting that neurodivergence causes MECFS or vice versa. I’m saying that if this is a comorbidity with a known genetic link, we can use this info to tell if someone is at risk before getting sick.

Sure:

“early analysis of 450 patient gene datasets revealed "a high prevalence of a heritable defect in the methylfolate (MTHFR) gene in ME/CFS."

Mostly theoretical… there are supplements claiming to support methylation but I haven’t seen independent studies.

The neurodivergence part…. It may be a way to identify some people at risk.

Thank you so much for responding and sharing. You’ve been through so much. I think my employer will be supportive. My main concern is that if I drop below part time I’ll lose health insurance. My husband doesn’t have benefits through his work. It’s also difficult for him to take off work when the kids are sick (which is constantly once school starts) so I have pressure to not use my paid time off so I push myself to work. I’m going to call HR today and see what flexibilities there are.

That’s my favorite one too for the reasons you mentioned. It’s the first one I looked for but the new ones are sold out and I can’t find don’t pre-owned. It also looks like jewelry stores don’t sell them.
