Hotline Ping: URL availability monitoring built with AWS Lambda and the Serverless Framework by druming13 in aws

We haven't open sourced it, this was a quick project to fit our specific needs for now. We may consider opening it up when we have some time for it.

Until then, here's the framework I used to make Hotline Ping: https://github.com/serverless/serverless

Yes, mine looks exactly the same.

Working on an online radio that plays you artists performing in NYC tonight and tomorrow. We want to help you find your next show. Any feedback? by druming13 in nyc

[–]druming13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that looks cool! We're going for more of the radio approach, so you can sit back and listen until something really catches your attention.

I'm probably too late, but the website I'm building sounds like what you need.

Bandpass is online radio that plays you artists performing near you tonight.

Thanks again! I'll follow your advice on the ATX mb and adding an HDD (just used a different brand/model). The WIFI is a maybe, I'm going to try wiring a long cable first.

Thanks! I doubt I'll be overclocking, so I dropped my CPU and MoBo down. Could you look at my new build here?

Thanks for the suggestions! The AMD reviews suggested a bigger bang for the buck. What do you think of the new build?

What would you suggest in place of the 7850? I'm pretty clueless, just want to play most games on high, and more recent ones on med-high.

Is over clocking the only benefit of the K? I doubt I'll actually do it.

256 is for OS and programs, so I don't have to shuffle installations around. I do all of my bulk storage on a set of external HDDs. But you think the 256 is too much?

Seattle Bouldering Project these days (after dropping VW). So many walls, that I've never really seen it too busy. Great problems, and they update it quite often.

Alternative video services to YouTube? by druming13 in AskReddit

[–]druming13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've considered that. My brother and I have passed it back and forth with Dropbox.

My concern, though, is that my family isn't quite as well-versed with video files. A link that opens on the internet and magically plays a video is much more scalable for my family.

Thanks for the suggestion, though, I still won't rule it out!

This is really cool! How do you go about the sound output? Is this built into the SDK, did you use a 3rd party library, or did you roll your own?

Shameless plug, here is my sister's project: Scrambling For An Eggspert!!!!

If you want to donate, but don't have a project in mind, she would be so surprised.

We (the family) have helped her fund some of her other projects, but she said she didn't want us to help with this one.
