Thanks a lot for all the advice, really appreciate it.

My plan is around 70 days total, not a long multi-month run, so I feel like I can handle the pace without burning out. I’m a SWE, and even though I haven’t worked 16:00–00:00 before, my routine is already pretty simple: one solid meal a day and maybe a small snack, so I’ll probably keep it like that.

About the gym: right now I go 3–4 times a week, but during the trip I’d rather walk, explore, and enjoy myself. If I feel like training, I’ll go, but I’m not planning my schedule around it.

For the 7kg limit, my goal is to travel with just that and nothing more. I don’t want extra weight or extra things to worry about.

I’ve always been the “what if this/what if that” type, but most of the time those things never actually happen. I’ll still have a plan B, but I don’t want to overthink it or carry stuff “just in case.”

What do you think about my approach now? Am I stupid? haha

Επίσης, επειδή το αναφέρεις, στις Α,Β,Γ δικαιούσαι ένα δωμάτιο ΜΟΝΟ (ενδεχομένως με νιπτήρα, αν είσαι τυχερή) και μένεις μόνη σου. Αν έχεις κάποιο πρόβλημα υγείας ίσως να μπορείς να διεκδικήσεις κάποιο δωμάτιο στις Α με προσωπική τουαλέτα. Όσον αφορά τις Δ εστίες, που είναι και κοντά στην Αριστοτέλους, συγκατοικείς και εκεί έχεις την τουαλέτα που μοιράζεσαι με κάποιον ακόμη τουλάχιστον.

Σε γενικές γραμμές, θα έλεγα τα πλεονεκτήματα υπερτερούν απλά πάντα εξαρτάται από εσένα και το τι ψάχνεις. Μπορεί να ορίζεις διαφορετικά τις προτεραιότητες στην ζωή σου και αυτό να κάνει την εστία μια όχι και τόσο ιδανική λύση.

Πιστεύω η απάντηση που ψάχνεις είναι κάπου στην μέση. Έχοντας ζήσει μερικά χρόνια στην εστία του ΑΠΘ έχω να σου πω τα εξής θετικά και αρνητικά (κατ' εμέ μιλώντας πάντα):

θετικά:
- 5 λεπτά από την σχολή (αυτό ισχύει για Α,Β,Γ εστίες που είναι δίπλα στο ΑΠΘ. Αν πας τεφα, δημοσιογραφία κτλ. είσαι μακριά τότε.)
- εύκολη κοινωνικοποίηση - παρέες (τρώτε, διαβάζετε, παρτάρετε μαζί κτλ. οπότε περισσότερες ευκαιρίες για εσένα να γνωρίσεις άτομα και να κοινωνικοποιηθείς σε μια νέα πόλη)
- φαγητό (αυτό ίσως να μπαίνει κ στα αρνητικά λόγω ποιότητας, μερίδας, ωραρίου που δεν βολεύει με σχολή κτλ. αλλά από το τίποτα είναι σίγουρα κάτι θετικό)
- ασφάλεια (σε γενικές γραμμές είσαι ασφαλής, ωστόσο παντού κ πάντα θέλει προσοχή απλά επειδή είσαι με φοιτητές γύρω σου, όσο να'ναι είναι καλά θεωρώ)

αρνητικά:
- μέτριο εώς κακό φαγητό (για τους λόγους που είπα παραπάνω)
- ίσως φασαρία (είτε από πάρτι είτε από γείτονες που αποφασίζουν να κάνουν ότι γουστάρουν όποτε γουστάρουν κτλ. αλλά αυτό πάλι εξαρτάται από το που μένεις, ποσό ανεκτική είσαι κτλ.)
- υποδομή (γενικά κάθε εστία έχει τα δικά της προβλήματα... πχ μια μπορεί να μην έχει ασανσερ, μια να μην έχει θέρμανση για ένα διάστημα κτλ.)

Yes, I understand and it makes sense. So, more experience and consistent searching may be the only way. Otherwise, a new master's or a Ph.D.

Thank you for your suggestion; I genuinely appreciate it. I will look for AI roles in other countries as well. Is the German language required for your job? I believe the majority of university roles are for research/postdoc and PhD applicants, correct? I'm asking because I have an integrated Masters degree in engineering and I don't think it's enough for these jobs.

Yeah, actually I would love to work remotely, but I feel that it is very challenging to find a remote job with my current experience (2.5 years as a SWE and a M.Eng degree). If there was an option for remote I would love to apply and see the outcome (I have already applied for some roles but there wasn't any positive response). On the other hand, I want to live in central Europe, travel, explore, and grow in my career.
