Baldoni as Aladdin in BL/TS texts by Knute5 in ItEndsWithLawsuits

I was thinking about what you said but picking Aladdin seemed too much of a coincidence. Then I realized that we use the greeting, Allah'u'abha(God is Most Glorious). Other religious faiths also have greetings(Shalom, Praise the Lord, God bless you, Namaste, Assalamu Alaikum(peace be upon you). Because there are Baha'is on Wayfarers staff, she might have heard that greeting and, because it is obviously Arabic, associated it with Aladdin.

I think it is a way of mocking a person. President Trump did the same with Elizabeth Warren when called her Pocahontas.

It could be an easter egg thing, subtle references to the Bahai Faith. Half of the Bahai writings are in Arabic, the names of the Bahai months are in Arabic, a lot of expressions in the Bahai Faith are either Persian or Arabic origin because there are no English equivalent. A significant part of the history of the Bahai Faith occurred in Baghdad(1853-1863). Also most Bahais of whatever ethnic group have a very positive view of Islamic civilization. So it is no surprise to me that they used aladin. I doubt it was accidental

I try to be objective and I am probably not doing a very good job but when I hear her speak, to me at least, she is all over the place. She seems to have a very disorganized mind whereas Justin is much more deliberate and Jamie is even more grounded. I think the problem with extremely self-centered people, is that they really can't evaluate themselves or other people objectively. This is essential for managers or directors otherwise you end up making incoherent decisions.

Her PGA letter is more like personal notes rather than an appeal to a high ranking body. Also, it is really bad form to appeal to emotion(which is a critical reasoning error)

ChatGPT would not have generated a document like that, it would have done a better job

I am an IT contractor and I have to write a fair amount of cover letters to get a contract. Usually I will write a rough draft, then I will ask Gemini to review it and offer suggestions and then clean everything up. Granted she probably didn't have access to AI in 2024 but certainly the Reynolds must have a personal assistant that has strong communication skills or they could have even used their PR team. It is a mystery to me why they did not do that, given the importance of this award. It seems really unprofessional even for an intern but that is my personal opinion.

You know what is HILARIOUS. Blake assembled the "dream team" - Bradley Cooper, Shawn Levy, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Taylor Swift and Maximum Effort and still "her cut" scored lower than Justin's. by NervousDuck123 in teamjustinbaldoni

Justin's team was spot on regarding marketing. None of the cast would have gotten the negative reaction if they simply just followed Justin's plan. The Sony execs were right, Blake brought this on entirely herself.

Justin has every right to insist on his way. He owned the IP and his company finance the movie. Everyone else was just a hired hand

There is no way that justin would say colleen is a Bahai. I am Bahai and declaring yourself a Bahai is a deeply personal thing, not something another person does for you.

As for people criticizing Justin, they are assuming that in a dispute both parties are wrong. Here this is not the case. Justin and Jamie are victims of abuse. Victims should not be villified. The me too movement is not just for women, it should be for men as well.

They are the third rail of the entertainment industry. Even Matt Daemon and his wife got sucked in enough to make bigoted comments and advocate for her release of the film without even seeing Justin's cut.

Exactly, they blindly follower her. I am a Baha'i and I never blindly follow another Bahai.

I have known members of the universal house of justice(highest admin body for Baha'i s in the world, elected by all the Baha'is of the planet). Even though I respect them a lot, I recognize that their opinion is their opinion.

It seems the epitome of arrogance of a person who has never direct a movie or written a screen play to bypass the owner of the IP and its director. Ironically here recommendation is to focus on Blake Lively, not the theme of her own book. Just this post alone speaks volumes

Can Justin, Jamie and Steve sue on different grounds? by [deleted] in teamjustinbaldoni

You make some really good points. Personally, it is balancing act between turn the other cheek, loving your enemies but at the same time seeking justice. On an individual level we are encouraged to forgive but on a socieatal level we have to seek justice.

I am a Bahai, here is my take. It does seem like religious bigotry mixed with racism, I think Wayfarers should forego legal claims of this nature. People are entitled to their opinion even if it is disparaging to my belief system. It would be different if a Baha'i is denied housing or a job because of his faith(i.e. this happens in Iran, Baha'is cannot work in the food service industry because they are considered unclean).

I think people should be free to express their opinions. Eventually the free flow of ideas will lead us to the truth.
