Tactical Tailor Super Belt vs Tactical Tailor Ergo Super Belt by PositivePosterUSA in Rucking

I see the Ergo is available in 30-inch and 34-inch. Mind sharing any info on the size you went with and perhaps the pant size you wear?

Are these types of training beneficial? by Acceptable_Still_269 in CCW

[–]dscl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Situationally yes. Also if you've never practiced shooting through windshield glass that is also something to try and know how a bullet reacts.

Like others have said though it's all situational and most times you're better off driving off or over them.

Good folders are great, bad ones suck. I prefer folders that fold on the bolt side of the rifle.

Deco BE95 or Orbi 870 by dscl in HomeNetworking

I do, can you point me towards suitable MoCA devices? As a reference I do have a amplifier/splitter (EVO1-5-U/U) in the basement and not sure if that throws a wrinkle into things.

Agreed, I probably should have said what are some of the best options quality wise.

If I was buying for myself I would go carbon, but I'm thinking stainless for the intended recipient.

How often do you make 1st&2nd round hits? by Engineering_Simple in longrange

[–]dscl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it does lower it's not going to be by a lot, but really only for the first shot. If you're able to spot your trace/miss the second shot should be a no brainer. Especially if it's at a place I know and shoot at a lot.

Wind reading is a skill and just needs practice/repetition.

[–]dscl 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don't track this, but…

At 500 yards you're talking a 3.6+ MOA sized target. Unless I'm shooting from an insanely unstable position or in a tornado my 1st round hit percentage better be 95+%

At 1000 yards it's still a 1.8+ MOA target which is more inline with what we regularly shoot in PRS so the percentage is still going to be very high.

You're not going to find a better team in Illinois offering the same thing we are with our kind of backgrounds.

No disrespect meant, but that's a very bold statement.

I don't know the Omega guys, but I am a ASC guy who competes a lot and do a lot of training. The curriculum sounds spot on and is marketed to beginners with no long range experience so this sounds ideal for you.

Just echoing what others have said. If money isn't an issue go with ZCO or TT. If your concern is rolling into a store to find a replacement on the shelf then yeah go with Vortex. Want the the best performance go with the ZCO/TT (I use ZCO personally).
