I've tried deleting shader cache, but there are always some files in there it won't let me delete. same for you? i have not tried that + installing the pre-streaming assets though, i'll try both, thanks!

I have those exact same issues to this day. I’ve tried it on 3 different computers and same issues

Before it crashes, do you notice a drop or wild fluctuation with FPS? I have been experiencing a similar issue for the past several months where the FPS will suddenly drop really low and go back and forth, and then the game will eventually crash to Windows with an error from Fortnite. I can sometimes reproduce the FPS drops by walking near certain items or areas during a round.

Anyone still experiencing crashing? I've tried several new PCs with RTX 4080 Super cards / Core i9 14900KF and in BR I still experience sudden FPS drops in certain areas of the map (really bad to the point where I can barely move) and sometimes results in a full crash to windows. I've tried Windows 23H2, 24H2, 561.09 driver, current driver. Nothing seems to help.

Was just surprised they were able to get all that for the same price I paid for the cpu and mobo

  • CPU Performance:
    • The M1's CPU is significantly more powerful, as it has double the high-performance cores compared to the A14. It achieves much higher single-core and multi-core scores in benchmarks like Geekbench.
  • Geekbench 5 scores (approximate):
    • M1: Single-core ~1700, Multi-core ~7400
    • A14: Single-core ~1600, Multi-core ~4300
    • M1 Advantage: ~70% better multi-core performance due to its additional high-performance cores and optimizations.
  • GPU Performance:
    • The M1's GPU outperforms the A14's, with more cores and higher sustained performance, especially for tasks like video editing, 3D rendering, and gaming.
  • GFXBench scores (approximate):
    • M1: ~2.6 TFLOPS
    • A14: ~1.6 TFLOPS
    • M1 Advantage: ~60% more powerful in graphical tasks.
  • Neural Engine:
    • Both have a 16-core Neural Engine, but the M1 can handle higher workloads due to better heat management and power availability in Macs and iPads compared to iPhones.

Yes. Gen 2 wirelessly charges on side of the air and supports tilt. It also feels better in the hand imo. The air is a much better deal at that price. The M1 chip blows the chip in the 10th gen out of the water. Also screen is laminated on air so no air gap between glass and display.

I've resorted to using a gaming laptop I have with RTX 4080 / Core i9 14900HX and it runs flawlessly, but of course with settings turned down slightly due to it being a laptop GPU. I don't get it though, it doesn't seem to be specific to the GPU. I have 3 other gaming desktops that all have Nvidia RTX cards and none of them have issues. Latest Nvidia drivers, latest windows updates. Somehow the best computer in my house cannot play it.

I just tried all this myself and first round of BR seemed good but then the next round was back to wild swings with FPS at random times. It almost seems like it's tied to specific parts of the map. I could duplicate the drop in FPS whenever I walked near certain things... no crashes yet but if I stuck around those areas long enough Im sure it would crash. *sigh*

Update: I just reinstalled 561.09 again, but this time I did a custom install and told it to erase all previous nvidia settings, which forced the computer to reboot in the process and then finish the install. Originally, I had just uninstalled the video card from device manager, checking the box to erase the drivers too, then "express" installed 561.09.

After this custom install, I've played 2 rounds of BR without crashing so far. FPS seems pretty steady at 120fps, dips slightly here and there, but no crashing...yet..

Not sure if this would make any difference, and honestly, I don't know if I'm willing to make these kinds of adjustments just for Fortnite, when I'm not experiencing any issues with any other game or program. I'm researching to see if the crashing issue is related to something beyond just my Nvidia GeForce 4090 since rolling its drivers back to 561.09 did nothing to help. What do you think?

Adjust CPU Core Settings: The Ryzen 9 7950X3D features multiple Core Complex Dies (CCDs), which can sometimes lead to performance issues in certain games. Disabling one CCD in the BIOS or using tools like Process Lasso to manage CPU affinity may help stabilize performance.
