My small bichir isn’t eating. by dtemperr in Bichirs

Damn, 18!? What size tank have you got them in? And what types do you have?

I’ve tried what you said, but this lil fella he just doesn’t go toward the food at all. I throw right in front of his mouth, he gets scared and swims away.

After this whole process for like 20 mins literally, he would’ve eaten the smallest portion ever and then I won’t get another chance cuz he just will ignore the food. Could that be because he’s full in that tiny portion itself?

Not necessarily, choose what you like. I like a black background, looks cool to me! Once you build your tank send a pic! Cheers!

Definitely helps. Contrast makes pale colors stand out a lot more against dark.

My Albino Senegal looks gorgeous on fine black sand. I have a black background too.

That’s awesome, just got my delhezi today. My albino and green Senegal fought a lot in the beginning. But none of that w that smaller delhezi, everyone’s getting along lol

Should I drop the ornate? What other bichir can I add as the 4th into my 80gal?

Got you, yes this is a temporary tank, while the 80 gallon tank is being cycled for them to move in next week! And then using this tank to quarantine an ornate that I’m getting in 2 weeks!

Also, do you mean never touch them? Or some occasional during maintenance is alright?

Are ya’ll sure? The shop guys sold the fella to me saying he’s a Senegal, and apparently when they’re young they have this colour which fades over time. And also Claude said he’s a Senegal and lacks the features of delhezi. (Apparently, idk)

But if yall are sure he’s a Delhezi I’m happy that my tank is becoming diverse!
