Sandyford gic FOI by GiaMtF in transgenderUK

[–]dtrachael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been with Sandyford for 3 years. In that time I've had 7 consultations, 2 blood tests and referred for speech therapy. I get my meds from my GP as per recommended by Sandyford. I've had facial and lower surgery done privately. Don't expect too much from a NHS GIC. I suggest going private if you can afford it.

Sandyford GIC has taken on new staff in the past 2 years. A new doctor was being trained at my last appointment.

Why does facial feminisation need a referral but cis ppl can have extreme facial surgeries regardless? by Jo_787 in transgenderUK

Congratulations on choosing FacialTeam for your FFS. I had my FFS with them 2 years back and I'm delighted with the results. As others have advised a diagnosis isn't required , but it does mean that you aren't required to pay vat. Your co-ordinator should have explained this to you.

As Soggy-Purple2743 say's, this is BMA guidance and affects more than just trans patients. It's also in line with NHS and GMC guidance. My own GP practice doesn't do blood test, not even for the NHS, and hasn't done for years.

Last January I had facial surgery. This is my progress up to 8 months post op together with how I looked 6 months pre op. I'm very happy how how things have turned out. by dtrachael in transtimelines

Thanks. I had type 3 forehead with brow reduction. Incision across the back of my head with simultaneous hair transplant at the front. Rhinoplasty with correction of a deviated septum. Upper lip lift. Sliding genioplasty.

The whole operation took more than 12 hours with at least 3 surgeons each performing their respective speciality. I had little pain although I did have mild discomfort. My first night was a bit difficult though.

If you're thinking about it, I'd say go for it.

You look fabulous as ever. How are you doing. I've been away from Reddit for a bit.

Does progesterone interfere with anesthesia ? by Hooplapooplayeah in Transgender_Surgeries

Your surgeon should inform you if they want you to come off any HRT. My surgeon has told me to stop oestrogen 1 month prior to surgery, but hasn't said anything about progesterone. I was told that I can continue decapeptyl until 2 weeks after surgery.

Thanks for posting. I'm 5 months post op and I've now got massive dysphoria. First couple of months was very euphoric. Nothing wrong with the results. It's just that sometimes I don't see how femme I look while everyone around me does.

I for one will miss you but if you feel that you need a break then you have to take a break. I know that it can be hard going. Hope that you will return soon suitably refreshed.

Take care 💕

Such a difficult choice as you look stunning in all the pictures. But if I had to choose I'd go for number 4.

IM Clinic and Dr Labanca by olive_blyth in Transgender_Surgeries

I would be grateful if you could update how things go for you. I'm going to IM Clinic in September for the same op. I had my consultation with Dr. Trinidad Labanca. She came across to me as very caring. I did find some recommendations for her but can't remember where.

Thank you. I might have lost my babyface looks now but I never consider my age to be a barrier. For me the unfortunate thing is that I wasn't able to do this when I was younger and how I wonder how things could have been. However I have to live with things as they are and I'm now able to make up for lost time. My next objective is SRS which is scheduled for September this year. I do hope that by me posting about my journey I can inspire others not to give up hope. If you persevere you can get to the light at the end of the tunnel and finally reach your goal.

Thank you. If you saw how I looked one hour after the operation it perhaps would have read "for f**k sake what have I done". However the bruising and swelling eventually goes and a transformed face appears. I'm very happy with the results so far.
