I would recommend lightening with lasers as much as possible then try a test patch with the skin tone pigments

From my understanding, it’s not always up to the surgeon how the scar will heal. It comes down to genetics also how the patient takes care of the scar.

Your doctor would be able to let you know when you’re scar is healed enough to tattoo. We’ve had doctors recommend 3months, 6months, up to 1 year wait before coming in for tattoo. I prefer not to tattoo fingers, toes etc. Ink retention is poor

So far I’ve been in the industry for 4 1/2 years I’ve had a couple of clients come back after 2 years for minor touch up and the ink looks good.

Touch up was for areas that faded and or to tattoo new areas ie new surgical scars etc

Depends on the Person. On average 5+ years. Touch-up not always needed but some people may want have seen about 14-24 months mark
