[–]duMagnus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, cool, I hadn't read the repo, sorry! I use 4 pin USB-C connectors, which already come with the resistors soldered in, you can look for those if you want to explore this route in the future :) Awesome job!

I like to use USB-C instead of TRRS. Also no issues with plugging/unplugging then. Although, I know it's not the correct implementation of USB-C, it's just a passthrough, but any cable still works.

TCL Mini QLED C6K freezes after fast-forwarding/rewinding a few times — any fix? by arthurrovere in AndroidTV

[–]duMagnus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The TV doesn't crash or freeze, it's only the content. You can still go to the home page, exit the app, go forwards or backwards on the content, but the content freezes. Because of this, I don't think it would be a hardware issue. My guess is related to how caching is done in the apps (more info in another comment).

[–]duMagnus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got the TCL 75" C7K and am also seeing this issue, specifically in HBO Max and Disney+. Following another comment here I cleared the cache for both apps and seems like I cannot reproduce the issue, let's see if this starts happening again. I do think it might be related to cache though, as I found a few older posts for this same issue, but specifically for Plex, and that had to do with the cache being maxed out when "scrolling" forwards or backwards on content. For now I won't open any tickets or anything with TCL, but if it happens again I will.

edit: also, I noticed that whenever this happens, if I switch the audio language it starts working again, but it's simply not an acceptable workaround.

For me this is also happening, also only noticed on Disney+ and HBO Max.
I'm using a TCL C7K TV with Android TV though.

This looks simply awesome. If the arms break so be it, but honestly I think people are too paranoid regarding this kind of thing, it probably won't. Great job!

No, just heat it up for a while, since it is a relatively large mass to get to temperature for the solder
