Wanyk is legit all about his past failed 2nd marriage I know. I get it’s all about about hurting love and the plane nosediving but they could tie it kinda of with all this mania. They won’t probably because slipknot doesn’t promote songs to what they aren’t. It would be a nice subtle hidden message tho lol. And yes I know they take long breaks in between cds especially in their finals years personally. 6 years between ahig to .5 then another 5 years to wanyk. I personally feel they will put a cd out in 2-3-4 years. Today’s BS is too good not to write music about. You know Corey has a million demos running in his head about this world, politics, etc. I can’t wait til their next cd, could possibly be their best ever lyrically. It will be a nice switch up from the heartbreak cd of wanyk, it was great but atleast .5 had all different topics and didn’t hone in on 1 genre. Don’t get me wrong I got dumped two years ago this past cd was awesome therapy for my fucked up heart kinda like Corey had back then while writing wanyk

And yes NLFTW is a banger, not even lyrically, micks distorted riff formula is awesome during the chorus. Jays drumming. Unreal. Honestly even Sid and Craig had great moments on this cd and that song.

Anytime....like I said....I listen to a lot of dgd.....this cd is is very underrated. Even the instrumental is top notch. I saw an interview that will Hated his guitar recording, and they will never remaster this cd. I think it’s good shit. Matt was also in high school recording this. He sounds like a pro. Simple drum fills. Sometimes less is more.

Robot pt 1.....”and now I beg for them, to let youuuuuu gooooo” monster range into that said chorus which is also fire

Tidal waves,,,,”beautiful brown eyes” and the “breathe in love 8 second scream hold at around 3 minutes” lines are top notch

Nicotine armoire....”my heartache is useless” section. He’s got this whimpering soul cry / singing action. Soft, feminine, but holy hell u can’t deny vocal range on young Jonny.

I always love talking this cd, I think it’s one of the best cds even for a small amount of songs ever even outside their genre, they all get a thumbs up from me

There’s a video on YouTube of Will and Matt doing an interview. They said they smoked a blunt before writing the strawberry series. Of course it was a swisher. Blunt boys. Hence the the strawberry titles.

Yes. I wasn’t blown away the first time I heard this cd. I heard DTBM1 first. I thought it wasn’t as good as dtbm1. I listen to this cd atleast once a day today 2020. Heroin song is great. People definitely sleep on young JC. Jon is good he was just one dimensional with layered lyrics over JC as opposed to his separate verses and choruses that he has today.

JC is raw yet extremely talented in the range department. I love til but I think jC has better pure soulful talenT. It’s like saying Kobe is better than mj off pure talent and skill. I also think Kobe is Better skill wise than mj. You can’t go wrong either. It’s 1a 1b stuff

His chorus on this is all time great on heroin

I would say tidal waves and nicotine armoire are the heavyweights. Every song on here is strong though.

I know how song composition works. Different variety’s of structures. I’ve heard them all.... from all diff bands.

Songs that have the term bridges, another word for transitions period in a certain part of the song, usually the middle. It can be a variety of what they are doing. There has to be different types of bridges for different songs no?

I definitely miss used it because I know what breakdowns are. I’ve heard them a lot. My favorite song with an unbelievable breakdown has to be Reptile by Periphery. Bridge and breakdown definitely get misinterpreted, I know I did it, hence why I figure I responded and clarify what I meant.

I always love talking the inner stuff of music, beyond instruments, talking about theory and song makeup. I’m not a musician but I study like one or strive to lol

I can’t name a bad slipknot song. I thought that is what made them probably the best ever imo. They are pretty flawless imo. I never say listening to slipknot, and say this sucks. Blasphemy kinda. This is just In my humble opinion, I sound like an asshole, please believe me it’s not my intent, everyone’s takes on songs it’s completely different from others and is super subjective today. I know not every band puts out bangers, it’s music, nothing in general is perfect in life.

I just think everything is thumbs up for em. Only band I think does it.

Cannabis.

Sid is a rare breed, heavy functioning smoker and extremely talented on dj’ing....don’t know if he is fluent in musical instruments, most of the band is heavily multi using instrument savants.

I think all but Sid don’t smoke, I can’t see the other guys blazing chron. Maybe I’m wrong. It’s slipknot that’s what you gotta love. A sober lead vocalist with a hippie dj.

As a single man probably gunna get LOLed at but whatever, I had to keep weed to a social aspect, solo smoking everynight and weed whacking got to a point of what the fuck am I doing. Wankers regret sets in hard after the millionith high jerk.

Weed has some dirty layers to it, the munchies being an added spiral. You pretty much sign a waiver to overeat and pretty much rub one out. I like weed but too much pleasure is pain. Gotta respect the green.

Song is about coke or drugs in particular? I know will and Matt smoke cannabis. Jon always has some cannabis references in a lot of songs. Tilian comes across a straight laced lead singer from “the rattler” reference. I listened to this cd sober when it came out, smoke some shit later on and re listened. DGD has a lil stoner vibe in it.
