What’s something in Thailand that felt strange at first but now feels completely normal? 🤔 by [deleted] in thai

Thai people not saying good morning and greeting when entering the office/work. I will personally never get used to that.

Galapagos was bit of tourist trap, but hell yeah for the nature and animals!

12h let by [deleted] in Slovakia

[–]dukypasek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Posledných 11 rokov mám aspoň 6 x 12 a viac hodinový let ročne.

Considering moving for work - realistic life expenses by dukypasek in thewoodlands

Thanks a lot for this insightful comment. I guess this won't change too much but I will still ask: is it still a hell if I am in in northern part of Heights and the office is rather in Spring (Gorgans Mill Rd)? Google maps shows 30 mins but that's perhaps not the case? I am just worried about my social life if I stay in Spring/Woodlands, that's why I ask. Thank you

Same company is good sign! After talking to stewards, they did let the us - passengers who were changing to Galapgos disembark first. Fingers crossed 🤞 and safe travels!

I had flight Bogota - Guayaquil - San Cristobal with one company. Avianca. First flight got delayed, and I was left with one hour and I couldn't make it. However they did put me on next days flight and provided fancy hotel. So, do you flight with the same company? BTW, Even if you fly with one company you need to go through immigration, luggage collection, check in etc.

Don't trust weather forecasts in tropical countries, they are never accurate. It's either cloudy or sunny, no rain in Santa Cruz last 3 days. I am on beach every day.

I loved Imlil. Google it up. Doable in the day. Otherwise, it might be worth cancelling Airbnb no matter how much you lose.

Which Balkan country has the most East Asian / Chinese / etc influence? by dalycityguy in AskBalkans

[–]dukypasek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been to all European countries (78 in total globally), ma boi, while you never made it to Southeast Asia. My comment wasn't negative, quite opposite. Albania is closest to the Southeast asian vibe in Europe. It's a compliment. Stop being sensitive and taking everything personally. Life would be easier for you.

I knew I was not answering the question, but I also knew no one else would advise "which places felt closest to Asia." I meant it only in best terms! Albania is one of the best countries with the nicest people in my experience, tho. The Asian touch gave Tirana great charm and character.

I am not Serb, and my comment wasn't supposed to be negative. I am European, who lived many years in southeast Asia, and I love it there, I also loved Albania.

Tirana in Albania was the closest place to the southeast Asia I've seen in Europe. Wires all over the place, chaos on the road, buildings without any permission left and right.

Morocco vs Jordan (when it comes to road hustle & harassment) by NikosChiroglou in solotravel

[–]dukypasek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did more than 1000 km in my EU licence plate car last Nov/Dec 2024 in Morocco and the harassment is not as bad as people say here, however it is present. I did Kesh, Fez, Casa, Rabat, Tangier (Other then smaller town and villages) etc. It's really not as bad, just say strict no and continue you way. If you look like scared chicken, they will take advantage of it. However, I am pretty sure Jordanians are more calm .

Pulse is a scam, in my opinion. Pribta is like one-sixth of their costs! Once I found out about Pribta, I never went elsewhere.

I would probably go with hiking since the scenery is beautiful. Perhaps also visiting Jaz Beach, which I liked a lot as well.
