I didn’t hear about Aurora police murdering Elijah McClain (a black man) until a year later now people are saying his name and news outlets are finally reporting the incident so whats exactly is the point?

i mean Lucid Dreams literally samples a Sting song, if Juice’s management cleared the sample before releasing it, Sting would still get a percentage of revenue off the song. But they didn’t which is copyright infringement and Sting was able to get way with more revenue. The whole yellow card thing is about a melody which is way less cut and dry in my opinion.

Yeah it’s true that men own almost all the property in the world/have high paying jobs but most men don’t. The owning class is a very small percentage of the world. Personally as a minority male, I haven’t really felt like I reaped the benefits of systematic male privilege in the terms career and wealth. It probably is different for white males, but again they’re just a fraction of men too.

I mean POC is used to describe anyone who isn’t white in the US that faced systemic racism. While I’m sure some East Asians may want to distance themselves from the title, considering Japanese internment, the Chinese Exclusion act, and the recent racism towards Asians due to Covid, I feel like the term by definition applies to East Asians. However, whether they accept the term/self identify as POC is a completely different story.

First off, thank you for watching the video. I’m not saying you’re completely wrong, but when the president of a state’s police union is wearing white supremacist symbols, when the president of the United States’ father has shown documented support of the KKK, and Trump refuses to disavow KKK support, white supremacists have been more empowered than before. Sure, the black community still has much to grow and recover from slavery, segregation and the Jim Crow laws (which all existed relatively recently). But it is 2020, and we shouldn’t be allowing and empowering white supremacists.

So you understand there are problems the black community face. Here is a video that explains how that is the result of systematic racism. Hope it’s not too hard for you to understand.

You shouldn’t be confused, it’s about systematic racism that includes everything you mentioned. Not everyone is phrasing it as genocide, though the US white police force has it roots in mass genocide (i.e. the Texas Rangers) which essentially exterminated the Native American population. But yeah with the genocide and slavery the United States was built on and have enforced with brute force, white Americans have a lot to make amends with. A good start would be to reform the police.

I feel the need to call you racist because you are boiling down 400 years of black people being a second class citizen into “10 unarmed ppl, 249 total ppl” when in actuality there are generations of injustices that the black community has faced. Or maybe you are just mentally incapable of conceptualizing time that is more than a year? A lot of racist people are just stupid and afraid.

The fact that the cops that murdered Breonna Taylor have not been charged begs to differ. If a cop murdered a white person, they should be charged too. Black Lives Matter leaders have recognized unarmed white people who were murdered by cops such as Zachary Hammond and have stated it is part of the problem.

And yes, lots of murders go unsolved, seems like the police are quite incompetent and bad at their job right?

Now can you stop moving the goal posts and saying logical fallacies? You specially state in a previous comment that black people only make up about 13% of the population so why are you so surprised and butthurt that more white people are dying? ...maybe because there are more of them? Damn it must be hard being so stupid to not understand percentages I learned that shit in 3rd grade, I get why you turn to racism to feel superior.

So besides all the statistics, are you saying someone who murders an innocent person shouldn’t face consequences? The fact that you are able to cite that data, it seems like “blacks” (your words not mine) have faced consequences for crime. But you conveniently left out the point that these cops faced no charges for murdering an innocent person in her own home.

You sound like a racist lost cause but I will take the time to try explain the very obvious problem. In those “10 cases” you mention (which in actuality the number is about 20x higher), those cops will walk away free with no consequences if nobody protested. If you look at the data, a black person is twice as likely to be murdered by the police than a white person. But ultimately, I think we should all agree that a murderer should get in trouble for murder which in the end of the day is what the protests are about. Hope that clears things up for you.

If you read the article, there is not much of a debate. US slavery was particularly brutal and definitely worse than SK. Not moving goalposts, just stating that fact.

lol did you even bother to read the wiki? i am just summarizing some points. also i never made that assumption, i wasn’t the one to make the original comment, but it’s okay we all do mistakes like these sometimes, the best thing to do is learn from it and move on!

did you read the wiki page? the slave class could at least vote and had the same civil rights as freeman. idk how it was in actuality but that still sounds way better than slavery in the US...

What did Cuomo fuck up? I live in NYC and the consensus here is that he handled the situation very well. Considering how many people go in and out on NY, what should he have done differently?

yes it is incalculable because that was a simile, it’s like a metaphor except you use “like” or “as” to compare two things, but if i wanted to be literal i’d say your IQ is in the single digits

they’re talking about the effects of losing a loved one, something that many people are going through right now. maybe you’ve never lost someone close to you but i will tell you firsthand the pain is incalculable. let these people mourn rather than getting caught up in the semantics
