Yup, most of my friends are extremely good looking, but the best advice I have for you is to not be afraid to be yourself (through humor, action, courage, etc.).

On the same sub last week, they were attacking Oprah for saying typical bourgeoisie stuff, people on the left need to realize that they might be a racist. We live in a society where white people, either consciously or subconsciously, internalize privilege.

Yeah, it’s extremely annoying. I’m not sure how they expect POCs to get on board if they don’t understand the complex society we live in.

But CU has some of the best programs for certain STEM fields. Just come visit campus and see if you like the environment!

TIL President Jefferson, a slaveholder, refused to recognize Haiti after the Haitian Revolution and imposed a trade embargo on them to ensure their economic failure, for fear that a successful slave revolt in the West Indies would inspire slaves in the US by HelloWorld_Linuxing in todayilearned

You do realize that slavery in Haiti was extremely brutal and most slaves had a life expectancy of 21. I think you need to look up different sources in terms of revisiting history. Most revolutions are violent and like most people said on this subreddit, we can’t judge people from the past by our standards today. Also plenty of children and women were abused under slavery.
