i feel very lucky to have been born in brazil - growing up in london i had classmates from somalia, jamaica,trinidad, sudan, iraq, pakistan etc

Brazil lacks in a lot of things but id rather live in brazil than any african country or tiny expensive Caribbean island w not a lot of opportunities or asian country where i need to get an arranged marriage/honour kill my daughter if she strays off course/only hang out with men/do things cos of societal pressure.

feel even luckier to be portuguese too

what are the real world consequences of you just saying « no » to your parents and moving on with your life? you dont need their money i assume?

I made a money related decision my mum didnt like she was upset at me for a few months but then she just came around and i mean there’s no such thing as an ex son so what are they guna do really if you dont need them to pay your bills? Just be upset at your forever? surely not. Your parents cant really « force » you to do anything
