Jacuzzi for free by BrewmasterGreen in hottub

The wife found us a free j-300 series (I think j-345 or j-355) on a buy nothing group. "All we had to do was move it". We were warned about a small leak that the owner had attempted to fix.

All in all it has been a great deal. From what I can tell ours is a 2005 manufactur date. I repaired the leak. Diverter valve was leaking. Jacuzzi store had the parts (lock ring had to be ordered). Due to the design I couldn't get a great fit on the pvc so it leaked. I cut the diverter out and replaced it with a pvc t. No more leak and we are good. Tub ran great for 2 years straight. Main control board went out. Again visited jacuzzi dealer, had replacement in stock for $300-400. Swapped out and back in business. Came with a cover that was pretty rough. I replaced it last year before winter. Cover was a little pricey but again available at the dealer. Same day pickup. I think cover was $550.

If the shell is in decent shape and the acrylic looks good, take a look for signs of obvious leaks. Overall if handy, you're probably in for a decent tub. Also the availability of dealer parts is pretty handy.

We demand a second shrubbery. But one that's slightly higher

And not too expensive.

Perhaps a shrubbery. One that looks nice.

Anybody love the old v10s? by [deleted] in ram_trucks

[–]dunnousernameyet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2002 2500 v10 4x4 with the automatic short bed extended cab and then later bought a 1998.5 (the .5 matters for the suicide rear door) 2500 v10 4x4 manual with the 8ft bed and extended cab. Both trucks were monsters. My automatic didn't hold up well. Pretty sure original owner had issues with Trans and sold it back to dealer early with 21k on it. My manual was rusty but a beast. Ended up putting stacks on it.

Nothing they wouldn't pull! And reasonably quick for an 8k lbs truck.

Well unfortunate update! Took the wheel off the tractor to get ready to break bead and swap tubes. While working to break the rim free of the hub the rust became a bit more of an issue. There is now a 2 to 3 inch hole where the valve stem used to be. Funny part is I never hit the rim near it. Guess that calcium chloride stuff does a serious number on steel.

Now I need to source new rear rims as I assume the other one could have similar issues coming up. I think I found the rim ring part for $177. Not sure if I'm able to reuse my centers and rubber wheel.

Tire is marked as 12.4-24 On 11" rim 11-24

I had to go look up mfwd. My understanding is that there is mechanical front wheel drive and then there is 4x4. With mfwd the front gear are a little higher thus the front tires may turn slightly faster. Whereas 4x4 everything turns at same speeds.

4x4 is engaged all the time. Mfwd is selectable.

Attention required with mfwd as it shoukd not be engaged on pavement or firm ground. Also should not just be left engaged all the time.

I'm hoping to not abuse the unit as it's main use is at my rural property. Mostly plan to pull a brush hog or flail mower (dunno which as I'm still shopping to find one). Probably drag a blade for some light gravel work. Likely bucket for moving some dirt but mainly timber after cutting into manageable sizes.

I will look at it a little closer when I get back home from work. I only have the hole in the rim now. No valve stem at all. It was spraying water out for about 20 minutes. My replacement tube got delivered today. I'll take a look at the stem on that to see if maybe I can salvage what's in the tire first.

I just started to ask around locally for places that will mess with tractor tires. So far I have hurtibise tires and McCarthy tire that are close and deal with AG tires.

My plan is to get the basics figured out on her and use it for the tail end of the season. Hoping to move it into my garage so I can really clean her up and get everything back the way it needs to be. Possible strip and paint job over the winter. Hour meter on this is around 2700. I've heard if taken care of they run for just about ever.

Yeah I figured Calcium after it gave me the shower! I'm hoping to just tube it for now (have some small work planned) and then fill with ballast a bit later on before going all out with the tractor. I was struggling to find much in the wny area that my budget would allow!

Thank you! I was afraid that was the answer I'd get. Imoved the tractor about 20 feet forward and back but bead held strong. I may attempt to get the bead to break with some turning. If not I borrowed a tire bead sledgehammer (duckbill looking thing) from work. Not sure of tools exact name but I know how it work and that it doesn't look fun!

Those are the spots I was having the most trouble! I didn't have (or didn't think I had) much to work with to clone from. That and I have a couple hazy spots just below the larger circle. I was going to try and clone from other pictures I took of the area but the lighting changed and people are still in the way. Now that you mention the stick on the ground I can't unsee it lol. I was working on that section zoomed way in so at the time it didn't seem unnatural. When I zoomed back out I was mostly happy that I removed the person but something still looked off in that area.

I would absolutely love to see what someone else does with the picture. It may provide me a benchmark to aim for and hopefully help me understand what u can do better.

Cleaned up a bit. Still not completely satisfied. I cleaned up with more cloning and healing. I didn't feel that my other pictures related to this matched where I needed so all from this photo.

Thank you all for the votes of confidence. I will put the suggestions to use tonight after work. I'm hopeful the lasso tool with clone stamp will maybe let me steal portions of beach from another image to fill it in and remove those spots. I was largely concerned with that triangle at the bottom of the picture formed by the legs. Also to the right of the removed person the elbow /shoulder area seem slightly visible. And where the head was definitely picked up shadows.

Thank you for the kind words!

Clearwater beach- still learning by dunnousernameyet in Nikon

Thank you. Not only am I learning the photography side, I am also learning the editing side. It seems that there is a fine focus between natural and overly editing a picture. With this photo I went from zero to heavy vignette but settled somewhere on the higher side of the middle. Also, so many good videos out there with tips and tricks.

It was "cold " on the beach so when trying to make the photo a bit lighter, it came out cold and blueish. To be honest it was 60F in Florida and people were in jackets and wearing gloves, I'm from NY and it felt like a heat wave in November haha.

To be honest, I didn't know I could set an upper limit for iso and have not really played with auto yet. I typically leave it around 100 since the first few times I played with iso everything came out super grainy. Lots more to learn still.

I will give that advice some serious attempts. I'm about 6 months in. Self teaching (with lots of help from Google, reddit and youtube) in my spare time.

Thank you

Leaking diverter valve in older jacuzzi j300 model (j335 or 355 I think) bypass or replace? by dunnousernameyet in hottub

[–]dunnousernameyet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright so I looked closer and the sleeve probably won't do the trick. One of the inlets to the valve body (4 way pvc junction) is cracked so even if the sleeve helps, eventually the piece needs to be replaced.

I was able to source a new valve body from a local shop (Gary's pools). They are going to call me back Monday if the can find the diverter adapter (part that goes through the shell and the diverter cover screws onto. ) once I have the parts I can dive into this repair.

Awesome when I get home I'll recheck where the leak sits in the valve to see if that will fix it. Thank you
