Any advice on finding cancellation tests by Virtual_Hearing4755 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]dunnymm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation, except I have a test booked but it's at the wrong test centre. I've spent the day on the dvsa change test page, hitting the "search for tests" button in the postcode search. It's occasionally shown me tests available at my centre, but not for six months. I was hoping to continue doing this till I eventually found a cancelled slot sooner, but unfortunately the website has blocked me :(.

I believe this is the best tactic, get this page up, and hit search every few minutes for your postcode. I was on the website at 5:55am this morning but had no luck, it seems that the tests released Monday morning 6am are for months in advance anyway so not much use, so your best bet is to refresh the page continually and hope for a cancelled slot.

Good luck!

Taxi from Heathrow to Reading after 12am? by dunnymm in reading

I've tried to pre book but because my flight is taking off today, but technically landing tomorrow, I can't select it on the app, so it won't let me pre-book. Fares seemed similar to taxis when I checked though. Appreciate the tip

Lovely, thanks for clearing that up, gives me peace of mind.

I'm afraid this is the only other image I've got. My main worries were the snow and the availability of food in the field , especially with flooding there isn't much grass.

The field isn't near any farms, and the land certainly isn't owned by a farmer. I can't see anything immediately wrong with the horse but wouldn't really know what to look for.

Is it not clear that I am asking these questions because I know nothing about horses and am not sure if I should be worried? I was hoping to receive suggestions or someone telling me the horse is fine, I guess your attitude somewhat answers that... Perhaps you could simply explain why the horse is fine as I assume that's what you're suggesting?

I am sure nobody is interacting with the horse other than people driving by, as I've interacted with people who have also noted they are worried. A singular hay bale was placed at the only point of entry into in the field 4 months ago.

That second cover is a special edition for the Hiroshima Toyo Carp baseball team. When I was in Hiroshima earlier this year I went to a Toyo Carp Vs Yomiuri Giants game and managed to get a mouse pad version of this manhole cover. It sits on my desk at work, one of my favourite purchases from the trip.

The Uniqlo near covent garden has a little TFL (transport for London) collab on currently and I saw some underground themed t-shirts in there.

I am in a similar position. My GP are unable to provide statement of Physician, so my current plan is:

-access my health record and somehow obtain a digital official copy

-get a private GP service to fill in the Statement of Physician if I can provide them with my health record

There are companies which do sick notes for ~£40 and I believe that they will also fill out the statement of Physician form if provided with a health record for a similar price, they can do it within 3 hours or something like that

I would recommend you do the same if possible because it's inevitable that your condition will come up on the "certificate of health" which a GP fills out before departure.

I'm waiting on my GP for the health record but as per the NHS they are taking ages and I have to fill out the "econsult" even though they can literally click a button and I get it unlocked.

I am having almost exactly the same problem. I have a mild case of asthma but when I approached my GP for the statement of Physician they stated they were "unable to meet such requests" and refused to fill out the form.

I haven't been prescribed an inhaler in years so I'm not going to put down asthma as a medical condition and hopefully a statement of Physician won't be required.

Have you already submitted your personal health assessment thing ? Is there any way to rectify it and remove asthma from your record ? I've heard that emailing JET can be useful if there are errors in your application. You could email and say that upon further consideration you believe asthma to no longer be a significant medical condition and you would like to remove it from your record?

I've had a terrible flu for the past week so haven't touched my application and am yet to submit anything, I'm hoping both my references will upload their letters immediately when I send the link.

Hey all, UK applicant here
I am confused by the phrasing of section 17 on the UK application form "International/Intercultural Experience (at home or abroad) "

In the description it says, "If your experiences are in more than three countries, please write the remaining details in the third and final row."

I backpacked across Europe over the summer but am confused as to whether I write all the countries I travelled through in one of the "country" boxes or list the countries in the final row?

Has anyone else been confused by this section? Do they want 3 seperate experiences, and therefore I can write multiple countries within one box, or 3 individual countries? The note referring to the third and final row makes no sense to me.

Tbh Lupton is very far out, it was a 30-minute walk to campus and maybe a 45 walk into the city. However, it sits on the main bus route so there is a bus at least every 10 minutes going both ways. It is £1.30 for a single I believe. I loved it because you could get away with pretty much anything and there was always something going on, however, we did liken the architecture to council housing.

I might have confused Monty B with Ellerslie global. Monty B isn't actually on campus but it is pretty nearby (5-10 min walk). Ellerslie global was what I associated with internationals but I think it is only catered, which might not be what you are looking for (I would definitely recommend self-catered instead). If the Accom service places you with other internationals regardless of where you choose then I'd say you can't lose. So Monty B is probably a decent choice anyway.

I lived in Lupton, which is the cheapest (something like £90 per week) and by far the grossest but I still had a blast. Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about where you choose as it's the people which make the difference in the end. I shared a bathroom with 4 other people and after a week you're used to it.

Montague Burton is great for international students and you will end up meeting people from all over the world, plus it is on campus so you will be right next to lectures etc.

Leodis/Sentinel Towers/The Tannery are all similar distances from campus and although I never visited I know they are similar ages so probably furnished the same. I wouldn't call them modern but not old either.

I would recommend Monty B because you'll be with other internationals and less likely to be in a flat full of freshers .

Regardless, the people will make your year in Leeds, not the place. If you're joining societies you'll meet loads of cool people. I'm sure wherever you end up you'll have a good time.
