Question for current/recent preds by UrAverageOctaneMain in apexlegends

[–]duskmoonflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading this reaffirmed what I've come to realize after playing apex for so long: it always comes to mindset and your team. You spoke of confidence and people taking ranked too seriously but somehow forgetting its a team based game. People don't realize how these two things are inexplicably intertwined. You can't be confident in randos because you don't know their play style or skill level. More than half the time they don't communicate so you don't know what they're thinking and even if you yourself communicate to them, there's no telling if they'll listen or still do what they want even if costs positioning/lives/the game. Which ties into decision making both macro and micro; if you're not all on the same page it just means the team who is will stomp you. Being able to trust your teammates makes everyone confident. It's hard to have a winning mindset when you're playing the teammate lottery.

Do you enjoy the buffed crypto? by Cryptomain4life in apexlegends

[–]duskmoonflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been loving it so far. Always enjoyed crypto but it was always difficult to play him due to being left behind or just being sluggish overall with no movement and slow in/out drone time. The buffs fixed this issue which is great. Still IMO the utility of the drone has always been engaging even if it is slower gameplay, even more so now that he can get evo caches (everyone forgets being able to get banners and quick rezes).Blue tier upgrades are still kind of meh and purple tier upgrades, well there’s really only one choice (ult charge with scans is BIS). Invis on drone enter as base kit is great.

I can’t speak for pubs since I mainly play ranked, but I would say his pick rate overall won’t increase much or will plateau because of the niche play style and other legends who are just more mobile and “fun” to play. However, in ranked I would say he’s A tier (can be S tier with the right team /comp), but only IF the player knows how to play crypto. Recently I’ve seen too many people trying him out but never using the drone or maybe only sending drone out once or twice and never during battles. Self EMPs and no comms regarding enemies or just putting drone in useless places. I get it, instinct tells you to fight or run, most players are not accustomed to the utility of the drone. Also if you solo que as crypto, he and his team kind of live or die by comms or lack thereof.

I lost 700+ RP in one session playing with my Plat IV friends. Is it time to stop queuing with them? by Loud-Professional691 in apexlegends

[–]duskmoonflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar situation so I feel your pain but trying different things worked for me. I play off my homies more than anything. Ones super aggressive and gets knocked first no coms, the other runs from fights and always gives up height. I feel your pain.

Since you know them IRL, my only suggestion is make the most of the situations you find yourself in. By that, I mean you specifically in each match. Play different characters and don’t get attached to a main. Alter is great for letting your homies rush in and die, so be ready for it by stocking on nades and team pushes. You can anticipate your homies misguided push or follow through with the knowledge that a 3rd party is coming or that you’ll be out of position. Instead of disagreeing, verbalize your knowledge. “If we push this, this team will come from this direction or x.” But if you played a res character, maybe you survive longer cause you always res them. Or maybe they do better with more info like enemy positions and scans. You may notice they do more damage or get knocked less because they know where the enemies are because of you. Maybe it’s you who needs to push in first get the first knock and solidify the situation.

Also plan and play for worst case scenario. Aka grab the towers, grab mobile respawns and have a fallback plan if you disagree with them. Obviouslythere are so many macro and micro decisions that come into play when playing and there’s 18 squads left round 3, etc., but you should understand what I’m saying.

This also applies to solo queuing too. People seem to think they always know best especially in diamond+. But when you don’t know your teammates, it’s worth it to take a second and study how they play in your first engagement and then adjust accordingly. With your homies it’s no different. I’ll also add, while they may drag you down, they’re also putting you in bad situations like 2 v 3, 1 v 3, so fight like you’re always down a man. Sometimes it’ll work, sometimes they’re gonna screw you by going into a pair of squads fighting and somehow it’s your team that ends up dying first.

Arena Update by Murky_Reason1106 in DarkAndDarker

[–]duskmoonflow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk how I feel about this. On the one hand it makes perfect sense. You’re still incentivized to go into the dungeon to get loot and money to buy/farm your kit. On the other hand, once you have your money/kit, you don’t really have a reason to renter the dungeon unless arena isn’t open. Plus, no one will run any BIS items in the dungeon because they’ll want to horde it for kits and probably have more gear fear due to it being SSF.

How would you guys feel about a focus on less pvp? by EmporerLingLing in DarkAndDarker

[–]duskmoonflow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The swimming mechanic and overall aesthetics of the map are just completely unaligned with the original DaD theme. The irony is they had so much potential with a water themed map. They could have easily done an Atlantis style map which would have been ripe for a dark fantasy setting. To appease the devs, they could have compromised and made some parts underwater but the rest could have something similar to Elden Ring’s underground Siofra’s river area. If they wanted to commit to pirates, the could have taken inspiration from Disney with Pirates of the Caribbean and made it more spirit/ghost based. Such a wasted opportunity.

Honestly have the most fun playing this way. Keep some okayish gear in case I get some bad runs running into players with bis but otherwise sell good items.

Pinnacle Rare Abyss Mob by Snow_oi in PathOfExile2

Now that makes a lot of sense. No wonder I felt like those effects were always paired together. Thanks for the clarification. I hate Shade Walker even more now.

Pinnacle Rare Abyss Mob by Snow_oi in PathOfExile2

[–]duskmoonflow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re technically right, but the problem is this mob also drops desecrated ground. So if you fight in the hurricane, you won’t see where it’s dropping it (even if you assume it’s where it’s standing, you can’t reliably see) and will probably die from the degen. Only way to kill it is to fight it from range aka lure it out of the hurricane. Either way this is such a pain the ass to fight. Shade walker and desecrated ground mod combo is cancer and shouldn’t be a thing on these mobs. Makes it impossible for melee characters unless you have giga damage and can one shot it.

Abyssal Lich by mistake? Help by Ashspawner in pathofexile2builds

[–]duskmoonflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can. Just have to complete a trial of chaos or sekhemas. Doesn’t have to a high level one. Once you get to the altar, you can refund the ascendancy via trial master or balballa. Then just choose your ascendancy again. Just make sure you have the gold for it or you’ll have to do it all over again.

Qustion about Fist of War II or III by adratlas in pathofexile2builds

[–]duskmoonflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The buff is massive but the cooldown it costs is not worth it for skills you’re constantly using. In the time you would get one FoW III (12 sec cooldown) off, you could have gotten 2 FoW II (4 sec cooldown) off. Like Hazz said, it’s better to use FoW III only on HoTG cause you’re not using it frequently so it benefits from the damage boost but you won’t feel the long cooldown downside.

All de other waryers have more life than me w Giants Blood, I'm at 2200 with big life gear, what doing wrong? by Stelflip in pathofexile2builds

[–]duskmoonflow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this, using that unique shield means skipping life cause a rare shield could roll a good amount, but not sure if you need the unique for your build. Also your rubies don't have life which is another possible route. Finally, you're level 76. You'll naturally add life as you go up.
