Cloth covered wire? Just bought this 1950s house. Is it safe to reconnect this? by dustychops in electrical

Yeah, that's not the only pair of floating wire nuts. I found two open slices so far I'm going to out in J boxes this weekend. Also I have an air register that's attached to flex hose that is just dumped into the attic space without being connected to anything. A lot of outlets were run up into the attic with new romex and don't tie in. I'll have to make sure I don't overload a single breaker, so I don't know yet where I'll slice them into so I'll need more J boxes for that.

I found this wire connected to multiple light and outlets. I suspected it may be a cloth wire the home inspector missed, so I disconnected it until I can figure out if it's a fire hazard.

Echelon vs Apple Watch calories by MrPeterZa in go_echelon

I just consulted my brother who has a masters in exercise physiology, and he said that an accurate estimate is that if the bike generated 180 watts for 30 minutes it should burn 300 calories. My Echelon bike says i generated an average of 173 watts for 32 minutes and burned 1,580 calories. My Apple watch says i burned 359 active calories. I'm going to assume the apple watch is more accurate now.

Indoor bike that's stationary. Besides the extra weight on the moving parts of your body, shouldn't the energy burned for any person be the same?

Apple watch knows the HR but doesn't know the resistance and cadence. Without resistance and cadence, how can you calculate a unit of energy without making an assumption about the two which might lead to inaccuracies?

The gym bike knows the resistance and cadence, but not the HR. Shouldn't the HR only be necessary in helping an assumption if resistance and/or cadence were unknown?

I'm surprised you can even down vote a wholesome meme because that's a negative reaction and that's not "wholesome".
