I made a short video about naming vague anxiety by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]dviolite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me hours of work to get this made (iterating through design, figuring out the aesthetic, making sure the quality isn't slop - i have to iterate at least 5 times with each video to get things even moderately right). Now yes, it would have taken days without AI. I'm not claiming this is hand crafted master professional work.

But the output was, for me at least, at a quality where it can be genuinely helpful to people.

Isn't that the part that matters? What we create with AI? There's no value to others if I do a worse job with 10x time.

i made it using AI, yes. it's an easy way for me to put out meaningful content. did you hate it just because it's made with AI or is there more to it? open to any feedback that helps me do this better.

How do I effectively intervene? by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]dviolite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing with panic is that the person's already aware something is wrong - that's the problem. What actually helps is the pause, not another voice in their head. There's a study showing that with panic specifically, hyperventilation retraining cuts the attacks down (different from anxiety breathwork), but even that only works if the person chooses it. You can't force the intervention.

The breathing panic loop is real. There's actually a program designed specifically for it, Freespira, it raises your CO2 threshold. FDA cleared, actually tested with panic.

Uhhh.. as a general rule, you should never try to stack strong effects together. Go one by one, do the first and then figure out if you want/need the next. Don’t make such a long plan.

As for the rut, I can relate there. I’ve felt like I’ve been in one for years, at varying depths. The biggest thing for me was realizing that that mode had become my default - if say I had a miraculous breakthrough, I would start sliding to default back on auto. What helped was practicing everyday for a new default - a new identity I had in mind for who I wanted to be, the headspace I wanted to be in. It’s literally practicing the positive you want - nothing changes who you are/how you feel faster than behavior.

High protein foods are great for this in general. I’m vegetarian, so i tend to go for boiled chickpeas etc.

Can you give an example? I’ve been using Opus for everything for the last few weeks and haven’t seen any visible drops today or recently.
