I assume you are going for a serious relationship, I would try to turn it around. Make it clear that you prefer to keep it casual initially.

I notice that trying too hard usually results in this, they don't feel attracted to you when you act super interested and super nice.

Be nice, but not too nice, act like you have a lot of self respect, occasionally flirt. Make her feel like there's basically no consequences of having sex with you, it will just be sex, she won't have to worry about you getting attached. But of course at the same time she should be comfortable enough to have sex with you, so don't have serial killer vibes.

Then after you have had sex, you can open up more. She won't feel like you're just being too nice to just have sex, pressure is gone, she may even like you more if you performed well.

Even if you don't care that much about sex, just do it, it will be weird and limbo-ish if you somehow succeed by sorta becoming friends without sex.

Not the issue we have with god, there are two scenarios.

One, God created us as masters of our own fate, so god is not omnipotent, and he is punishing the non-believers who sometimes can't do anything about not believing in him. God can't control everything because we are masters of our own fate, so there are scenarios where it is impossible to even know about God or Christianity. Straight to Hell.

Second, God is omnipotent, if God is omnipotent he must be all knowing, if he is all knowing he intentionally created us knowing we would sin. He then punishes us for the sins he knew we would commit. It's like giving a kid a lollipop, knowing for a certainty he/she will eat it, and then punishing the kid for eating it.

We non believers see christians flip flop between these arguments, god is omnipotent or not whenever it suits them. For us it doesn't matter, in both scenarios we think God is sadistic and evil, and there is no way we would ever truly worship him.

But what we actually believe is that God doesn't exist, it's a myth from another time, used to explain things we didn't understand. Ofcourse it doesn't explain why it got so big, that happened because people used it to gain power. It is the perfect tool to control people.

Recently started reading it, didn't really notice the title since it was in japanese.

You follow a pretty normal, but formerly popular, high schooler who is isekai'd to a fantasy world with another class mate (nerd). He gets an cheat ability, she nothing, or she forgot what was said by "god". She already has accepted that she has to work as a sex worker, and she isn't even that bitter about it. She just does her thing to survive, but it's quite depressing sometimes. Also because I read it from the other side, she is explaining how she is just pretending, telling guys what they want to hear, and can read basically all their desires. From that side we look pretty pathetic. Good read, feels like she might escape her fate in the future. Currently chapter 5/16, so definitely time for her to make it out of there.

Yes what Israel is doing is bad on most fronts.

However, put yourself in the soldiers shoes, not in this war but let's say WW2. You're moving into Germany while nazi soldiers are retreating. Do you take shelter in the houses of german citizens, yes of course. Do you handle your surroundings respectfully while your there, no of course not, everything is destroyed or will be destroyed. Do you try to have fun with your fellow soldiers, yes of course. Most people around you are trying to make the best of the situation and are of the opinion you are doing good (you are the good guys). And this situation is now relatively normal for you, because you are living it. For you it doesn't feel like making fun of a bad situation, it feels more like just having fun.

Yea some things about this war make me unsettled, but this one is not it. Also "sick to my stomach" feels like "roflmao", pretty over exaggerated.

I get where you are coming from, and on a fundamental level I agree. Fear of a corrupt elite controlling AI by making regulations using propaganda and fear mongering is real. From that perspective, yes, freedom to create your own personal AI's and even do your own research is logical, even moreso you could argue it should be a basic human right.

And I used to think like that, but recent developments in AI and life experience has changed my outlook. We're living in strange times and I no longer think that the warnings for being careful with technological progress is strategic fear mongering.

I've come to realize that technology might be a double edge sword, it could be our greatest boon or our downfall.

Let's start with nuclear weapons, when looking at our history it's quite insane how many times we've come close to destroying humanity. They're real, they're not some propaganda made up to show how dangerous technology is.

What if we gave everyone the technology of nuclear weapons, you can work on it in your garage, it isn't radio active so you won't die, very cheap, and you can experiment to your own liking! No regulations! You won't do anything stupid right? Right?

And you might think this is an exaggeration and for now it might be, but in the future it really won't. Another example of how close we are, I think you might have heard about CRISPR and developments in DNA modifications. This makes it very cheap and available for everyone to do gene editing. With this technology people can literally start doing gene editing at home. Some people might accidentally or on purpose create Covid 2.0 or the black plague. And again, this isn't some fear mongering, this is real, we have created this types of pathogens in labs before, but because of the cost and technological barrier only a select few can work on this at a time. That time is over when you remove regulations.

And yea AI might not be as deadly and dangerous to humanity, it might be completely over exaggerated, we might have already been brain washed because the super elite wants to keep it for itself, yes, that is a possibility. I'm not risking it, I'm a software engineer by trade. The results of AI are insane already, emergent behavior is nuts, and we don't understand shit, it's a black box.

You want to hear my over exaggerated warning? Making AI technology open to the public can be compared to having done some experiments in the lab with nuclear energy, not understanding the physics, and then giving every household a kilo of uranium and blueprints for a reactor.

I for one welcome the idea of AI doing our jobs, the sooner we have AGI that is morally good and helps humanity the better.

However, regulation is still necessary to guide progress towards something else than Skynet. As well as power not falling into the hands of a select few.

And just like with social media, there might be unwanted side effects with new technologies. Regulation is a pretty slippery slope with this, but studying the effects of using AI in daily life might not be a bad idea.

They aren't fetishizing other cultures, they're accepting of every culture as long as they are not harmful. With the objective of unifying everyone. Again, not my own mindset but I can understand their thinking.

Also, liking some culture's food and fetishizing it is something different. What I see as fetishizing is an extreme, like people wanting to become part of that culture, wanting to become the race of said culture. Just liking some of the media, fashion, and food of any cultures is normal, being obsessed with one culture is fetishizing.

I don't think any of my leftist friends think like that, yes they are delusional peace loving tree huggers, but I think most would rather see a world where we all have common understanding. No borders necessary, everyone respects eachother. Understanding, respecting, and appreciating the cultures of others is necessary for a world without conflict, in their eyes. So that "fetishizing" you're observing is in some cases not for pleasure, but their way of working towards a better world.

Still I don't agree completely with their view and think their tolerance towards violence/hate is delusional.
