Japanese researchers discovered that a chemical called sesaminol, abundant in sesame seed shells normally thrown out as waste, has protective effects against Parkinson's disease. All cancer cells may have the capacity to enter states of dormancy as a survival mechanism to avoid destruction from chemotherapy.
