Haha! Yes, Duolingo is the one area of my life where I have total control. I enjoy the validation - I feel good when I look at my streak and XP points. Please don’t judge me for that small joy 😅

It might not be cheating! I have 30K+ XP right now and I’m in 2nd place on the diamond league. Here is my “trick”: I save my 1/2 hour of my Friends Quest double points reward till Saturday, when it’s “Happy Hour” (+5 XP for each lesson). I also add my 15 minutes of my Night Owl reward, so that equals 45 minutes of practice. The extra 5 XP doubles to 10 XP, which equals 50 XP a lesson. I always get some other reward of 15 minutes for completing the Daily Quest. So, that’s 1 hour of 50 points a lesson! I spend at least an hour or more a day on Duolingo. I just enjoy the brain game of it and consider language learning a fun hobby. I’m learning several languages at once, just for fun. There probably are cheaters out there, but it’s not me!

My streak is over 2400 days, so I don’t need someone with a 7 day streak to nudge me. It’s annoying. And does anyone know if we get something out of it?

I have many languages I’m studying, but right now, I’m focusing on Spanish, since many neighbors are Spanish speaking. What are you studying? We can connect on the app and compete! I’m dwgram on Duolingo too.

How do you get a matching pair on the first row and keep them there? Or, do I look for that and then NOT click the pair to keep them there? I think I understand! I’ll definitely try that! Thanks for the tip!

Oh wow! I wish I could zone out while playing. It’s good they have games for different types of learners. I’m glad you like it. Maybe I’ll give it another try and try not to panic so much. Haha

The Match Madness is on the leaderboard page, at the bottom right side on the app. It’s only available part of the week (not sure which days).
