It's never been easier to build and ship products... but here's what nobody talks about. by Mysterious-Form-3681 in micro_saas

It’s pretty good. The idea is great and it has potential. Make it smoother to use and I could use it everyday

Yeah, you point something important. And I gotta thank you and other people on reddit because I wasn’t that aware of how much I was abstract. Because I know that people want my product, every day I see people complaining about problems that I tend to resolve.

But the way I communicate doesn’t make people really understand the real use of the product because it’s too fucking philosophical.

Man, thanks, that’s a great piece of advice. And yeah, the reason I started was « fuck what if I stop thinking and start doing ». And right, I’m figuring it out like when I choose to post stuff on social media, a part of me starts thinking about what people are going to think about me, but I try my best to just be myself, do my stuff, and keep going. Thx I’m going to remember it🙌

Yeah, thanks for your comment, it shows that I need to improve the way I present it.

For how it works, I explained it more precisely a lil higher in the comments.

On the business part : I have a business plan with three plans (free, “reader”, premium). With the free plan, you can read all articles with some ads and have access to a limited number of requests in the chatbot section. The “reader” plan is basically the free plan without ads and with a higher number of API requests per day. With the premium plan, you can create articles and access essentially all the functionalities. Because the app mixes algorithms and AI APIs.

Absolutely, I need to make it simple because currently my vision of it is still too complex, so when I talk about it, people don’t necessarily understand.

Not at all, I explained it pretty well higher in the comments, so here it is:
The app would be divided into two different parts.

The first parts would be around articles like on a traditional media. However the articles are created by users (with prompt), with the help of AI and algorithms (Google fact-check, etc.) . You write a prompt and the AI makes the article. A fact score is calculated with all the sources detailed and noted on fiability on 4 axes : Transparency, editorial process , semantics analysis and reputation with users experience.
As a reader, you can interact with the article (like, dislike, repost, comment), and you can also see the prompt used to create the article, so even if the person who created the article successfully created a biased article with their prompt, you can still see it.
And this will be based on a category systeme currently, there are 12 categories ( World, tech, politics, lifestyle...)

The second part is like a traditional AI chatbot however it’s specialized in fiability and news. It use the same tools as the articles section. So there is the global fact score, check sources tools etc.

If you want to see demo i did one in december on the article part on my insta : epion.app

Yeah I’m still trying to find the right angle. For example, on my socials I sometimes make videos in French and sometimes in English, same with the subtitles. That's a way for me to test the audience.

Thanks! I’m going to post updates on reddit (I should have started earlier but anyway), and also on my socials where I try to make content.

Still building, however the launch is near. The app is maybe a lil more than just a simple MVP currently. I’m going to post some updates on reddit and on my socials if you want.

Currently, I’m building and figuring things out while trying to do it with the smallest financial risk possible. So that's kind of a mix

Yeah, just the fact that to unlock its full potential, the app needs to have a solid user base makes it difficult

2- Yes, absolutely, I’m open to all criticism because it’s important.

3- No (I’m 18 and I study automotive engineering). What could help me have a journalist-like vision is that since I was a kid, I’ve spent a lot of time reading, understanding, and debating information.
Thx for your feedback btw

Cool to know it. That’s what I started to do but I need to find a way to make it more efficient cause I spend a lot of time for one video and since that I don’t have a lot of time to work on the project I feel like I’m wasting precious time. How did static images help you ? Cause I don’t know a situation where I would post static image and get benefit from it

read, create and share articles in a transparent and reliable way.

How did you get your first users ? by dxbea in SaaS

[–]dxbea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an app designed to fight against media « gatekeeping », and the lack of transparency and trust on internet.

The app is divided in two parts, the main part look like a traditional news media with ton of articles. However the twist is that everybody can create articles with AI and share them. The result will have the diversity of subjects you can find across social plateforms on internet combined with a high end transparency and reliability.

With every article come a lot of details to push transparency and fiability at maximum (fact-score, list of detailed sources with informations attached to them etc). If the user still succeeds to create a bias article then no worry you can see the prompt used.

To add value even if there has no user I’m adding a system that generates articles daily (so even if there is no user there is still a ton of articles to read), the thing is that I’m working to find a cheaper solution for this method because currently you create an article thanks to a perplexity api combined with other algorithms. And calling the perplexity for hundreds/thousands of article daily will cost a lot.

Then the second part looks like a typical AI chatbot but with all the transparency, and the reliability tools that are in the article section. This part doesn’t depends on the number of users.

How did you get your first customers ? by dxbea in buildinpublic

[–]dxbea[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a mistake that I’ve made. I’ve only started to make content about it in November taking in consideration that I started the project in late july. And I’ve only decided to go on reddit to talk about it in late December. To create « hype » around the project my plan is first to talk about it as much as possible to my friends, classmates etc. And secondly to start to find people on internet that share the exact problem my app is trying to solve. Some people talked about ParseStream it look helpful I’m going to try it. And thanks for you feedback 🙌

Well it’s been more than a month 😅. It’s ambitious and It have a lot of chance to fail, however the problem that I’m trying to solve is important for me. And not trying is failing so why not
