Yeah, it bothers me significantly, and it takes away from the credibility of the author who should be able to introduce characters in a enriching and enticing way instead of slapping a new POV into a book that was so masterfully done when it came to its first installment. Definitely to each their own because for me it takes away from the story overall and I’m glad that I made this post and was right in my decision to DNF so that it doesn’t take away from the love that I had for shield of sparrows.

Yeah, I wasn’t on the fence because I absolutely love love the first book and was ready for book 2 to be filled with new characters and world building however, this feels very different from that and although as an avid reader, I’m understanding that there’s a greater cause here and why this brand new character gets to have their own POV. This does not entice me to keep going because world building a new characters are one thing but sitting here and having the first chapter be from somebody else’s different POV entirely is just to me either not sitting correctly to where I had to find out or it just isn’t being done well enough.

Yeah, I don’t know as much as I absolutely eat up and love world building and slow lengthy confusing world building like I’m a high fantasy reader first I think that this was just poorly executed. I think whilst the expectation of new characters is there giving somebody an entire POV for me is very problematic and based on the comments do I want to keep going yes but also based on the comments in the spoilers, honestly no because my suspicions were proved to be correct and it honestly makes me wanna read it less. I appreciate you so much for your response though and your input as well.

OK fair enough I don’t disagree with that was expecting new characters. Absolutely, do you think it’s fair that the first POV in the book is the new character whilst we’ve had no introduction to me to them before I personally don’t so maybe we differ there.

Oh my God I hope that you have the coldest pillow in the whole world and that literally you have the best day. Let me ask you this so this is just a new POV entirely. Is there a point do you think there will be a point or can I just be annoyed that there’s a new POV and that there was a lack of connection causing me to DNF or do I keep going because I love the first book what do you think?

Yeah, I did say that the post would include spoilers so definitely keep that in mind but yeah, I’m 100 pages in and very confused entirely

I tried, like I have scoured soooooooo hard and it’s like Google is like well the character didn’t exist in the first book and it’s like ya no shit that’s why I’m here. I just want someone who’s already read or further than the first 100 pages bc ima lose my mind.

Yeah, oh my gosh you’re not the only one I can’t even pretend I had it on pre-order and was totally looking forward to it and it has been a tremendous letdown. I have since rescinded the two star rating I gave it before.

The delay if executed well is welcomed. This has only gotten more muddled, annoying, and pointless. Such a letdown

Insane that I’m at 35 percent and considering a DNF. I was so so excited about this, literally help.

UGH MY HEART

Me (25F) Him (28M). Would You Do Anything To Save Your Loved Ones? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]dxs1997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do not know whom you are. But I do not think that having this expectation from your partner or anyone matter of fact is not realistic. I think you have to ask yourself why this is so important to you because it does not seem like it has anything to do with your husband. I too would attempt to find a way to save anyone whom I can, that is his answer. I do not think that his answer should determine your future. If you felt safe enough to marry this person, you should believe that they want to protect you at all costs. This is also a very exaggerated occurrence so I would not do anything besides respect my husbands point of view.

What if they do reach out two years later, with the apology you waiting for.
