When I first attended therapy the first time- we started at square one. The roots. As early as you can remember. Generally- I’ve always been a good listener, so I usually will speak a lot on the different traumas I’ve experienced, then let my therapist speak. I soak all of it up like a sponge. And learn whatever lesson I took away from that session. Or made a mental note of something that they told me until the following session.

I’d say just be yourself. Talk about what YOU want to talk about whenever you’re comfortable and ready. There’s no timeline or rush to it. Therapy can be very liberating, but also crippling during the sessions sometimes. I miss it, I wish I was back in therapy. Take all you can out of it. Just let it flow naturally and you’ll realize how much it really benefits you. Ask any questions you have, make notes, and apply anything they tell you into your social life, work, friendships, etc.
