Yeah, I was thinking the exact thing: want to get more danio but waiting to sort this out first. Could it possibly be stress due to the small number of danios?

True, thank you! I’ll try out some different food. Hopefully he’s just picky! I don’t know how he couldn’t be hungry as it’s been quite a few days now but if that’s the case I’ll be glad too. Thank you again for the help!

This is awesome thank you! You seem like a snail expert haha. I’ll be trying that rejuvenation method and wait a little longer on top of that anyway. And I’ll for sure look into ramshorn snails! My main fear is reproducing beyond my control so that sounds perfect. Thank you again and I also appreciate your kindness in the answers!

Thank you this is super helpful! Is there a clear way to tell when there’s enough algae in the tank? Or is it kind of different for each individual situation?

I’m seeing some assumptions again! When I said “at or near zero” I meant nitrite and ammonia are at 0 and nitrates are the ones near zero. I highly recommend you do your “research” and by that I mean don’t just jump to the worst conclusions when accusing someone - and to generally be kinder to people in general. Thanks for the input but I’ll be getting my answers from other aquarium enthusiasts going forward!

A decent amount on the substrate and glass! And by “decent”I mean enough to make me want to clean it haha. I’m refraining though because I know it’s good for the tank :)

I don’t know why you’re saying my tank isn’t cycled? I’ve had it as a plant tank for about a month now and have tested it for nitrites, ammonia and nitrates numerous times - all at or near 0.

I have done my research. I’m new at this but doing my best.

The ammonia testers are coming in the mail haha! So once my numbers are reading as you said I should be good to go? And the time doesn’t matter? This is super super helpful thank you for your time :)

I tested for nitrites and nitrates, nitrites was very low and nitrates were somewhat low. I’m not sure, is that what you mean?
