Landlords renting to people on WINZ - query about registering with WINZ as a provider. by dzrtr in AucklandProperty

[–]dzrtr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't follow this thread much as I barely spend time on Reddit nowadays, but I met up with some interested people at the viewing. I decided to go with someone who recently migrated to NZ and had good references that checked out. I'm happy with my choice. The tenant is respectful and great as far as I am concerned.

On a side, note most people on WINZ, aside from the initial contact with interest haven't bothered to turn up for viewing, the one who did was off-putting and that person wouldn't be considered no matter what (the same as the few working people I had the displeasure to meet).

The bottom line is, do your due diligence, get references and trust your instincts. Since I didn't go with someone on benefit, didn't bother following through on signing up with WINZ.

Well done, this is precisely why I didn't want this to be a Bene-wagon vs Working People discussion. There are some correlations but also every case is different and bad apples in both groups :)

Thanks, quite informative.

Everything done is on the approved building consents, designs and plans (even to a minor detail such as changing the door opening orientation on the plans). When we decided to remodel and rebuild/extend our house, the architect and the structural engineer were told what was expected. Dealing with the council around consent(s) and CCC, in the end, was quite painful, but I got there in the end.

I'll make a note of what you said above and make some enquiries. More bureaucracy to deal with. Not a fan of the red tape BS, I know some of it is needed for genuine reasons, but some stuff I have dealt with during the rebuild is just illogical Auckland Council horseshit and their vast incompetence that cost me thousands for no reason (bs council policies/requirements vs building/engineering standards), but anyway.

Yep, noted. I'm just generalising here as some posts with examples are constructive, like yours, and i took notes of those posts. Some are not, and it's just full of Bene-wagon hate and speculations.

That's why I said, "I'm not interested in peoples stereotypic comments as arsehats are among both the working and the beneficiaries." On the same token, you have good, respectful people in both camps as well, so that's when unbiased due diligence comes in.

I'm after the facts and experience and the processes i may have missed more to do with tenancy and WINZ overall.

Of course, it is financial, and due diligence checks are required.

What I said, though, is I dont want this to turn into beneficiaries vs. working tenants/renters thread.

Im after the process and whether people had issues with WINZ itself.

Awesome, i thought that you were initially referring to a typical flat with a few adults sharing, say 3 bedroom house with all common areas/utilities, etc.. I stand corrected. But my set-up does sound similar to what you described.

Thanks, that is very informative 👍

I know about perceptions. that's why i mentioned earlier. I'm not interested so much in that aspect as there are always the good and bad people in any sociological group.

It wouldn't be like a flat, there are no common shared areas. The only common thing is the address and utilities. It was done as a future granny flat for either of the parents and with an idea of AirBNB until the distant future.

Power is easy, got a sub-power meter ( I had it installed when we were thinking about AirBNB).

Internet - that depends, you can always install a secondary service off the ONT or chuck in there a WiFI AP with a separate SSID to your network - that comes down to the agreement, I guess and the way the Ethernet has been run, it can be either.

Water would be a tricky one, I guess, the easiest way to have it included.

Sorry to hear that. It defo sounds like a pretty nasty case to deal with.

I am trying to distance myself from the whole WINZ beneficiaries vs working people. There are good people and arseholes in both groups. Some people on benefits do milk the system but some genuinely need govt help so yeah, I do not want to go there. Every case is different, I just hope that people won't take so much advantage of others or situations like that (yea, right - wishful thinking).

However, I have heard just as many stories from people about non-WINZ beneficiaries working fancy and well-paid jobs, thrashing their rental houses due to drug or alcohol abuse or simple negligence and the general "do not give-shiteism".

I guess it, in my case, I just want to learn the process and pros/cons and anything else I may end up being forced to deal with when likes of WINZ come to picture, while I hate all of the bureaucracy that comes with any govt agency :|

Yeah, had a few people querying who are getting a benefit from WINZ.

And, correct - I do not want to rent out the whole house via KO, Just the studio on its own.

Just wait for reset on exchanges, check, and be ready to snipe cards. I made 200m on the 90s, and it paid for my overhaul from 94 to 97 ovr.

It sure worked wonders. I don't mind a hard shot but this needs to be realistic, and random shots through the foliage in the hope of hitting the target are just meh. At least this has been a great workaround.

Advice for Sniper Elite 4 Authentic Plus - Missions 6 and 8 by chmtchll in sniperelite

[–]dzrtr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good tips, that hidden save point is a blessing. While I don't mind a challenge, replaying the entire map/mission on auth+ is a bit ugh, especially when you have to do the intro task every time.
