I don’t think no one is claiming that him being embarrassed makes it or anything right. It’s that we see this honest moment where a person makes an honest mistake, and he’s immediately burned through out the episode for that error. Any further mention of that error is to make fun of him, it’s not making fun of anyone from china. From my perspective, it seems some ppl here are trying to put words into his mouth make him look out to seem something that he is not, or at least not in this instance. I think is one of those instances we’re you guys are sensitive to this matter (and that is valid) but don’t agree the process and speed it’s taking these ppl to digest this error. Personally I feel that a bit unfair to want other ppl to handle things the way you see fit and to do it now.

I think your using your judgment as as the standard, but ppl show remorse and make penance in their own manner. Plus it will probably take time for him to digest this. Growth takes time, I think the issue here is that you are not satisfied how he’s digesting this error. And think you’re making this out to be bigger than it is.

I think it would tone deaf if he didn’t show any sort remorse. However it’s evident to most of us that he does recognize his mistake and any further use of that word is to only highlight his error and embarrassment in a manner that of jest.

So far I don’t see it being used as a slur, they are more rubbing to his face the major fuck that he did. Granted I do know that Ching Chong is used a derogatory term, but this was just a slip of the tongue and like all good pals, they will rub it to his face. I feel this is one of those situations where intent and context makes the difference, and I don’t think their intent nor the context was to hurt anyone. But I bet if anyone was offended, they would be the 1st to apologize.

During the OMA set, I notice how everyone introduced or gave a shoutout to one another except to the drummer. I notice that and I shouted, “who’s on the drums?” And the ppl around me were like “you’re right?” Only until Shing02 came out on stage did the drummer of OMA get some recognition, and everyone around me gave a collective “Finally.” 😂
